It's good, I like it a lot (although tbf I also like bad Darkthrone albums). It's much more consistent than The Underground Resistance and just one huge riff-fest. A couple of songs could have been on Ravishing Grimness (this is a compliment) if Fenriz's drumming was worse. Also, Nocturno Culto's vocal performance is great again

It's more Celtic Frost than Manilla Road this time. A win either way.

Agreed, I just listened to it. It kicks in hard after a few minutes.

Everyone seems to like the new Darkthrone. They're really good at removing stuff from Youtube. I guess I'm getting a Spotify account finally...

E: Wait, it's not on Spotify either. Welp.

Apparently an EP was released last month by a band that is Leviathan and Wormlust and Chaos Moon and the vocalist from Aosoth, the bassist from Nağra, and the (Current) drummer of Blut aus Nord. It's god drat crazy.

Well pack it in boys, Norwegian Black Metal has finally broken through the mainstream consciousness and is now officially considered ArtTM by normies. It was fun while it lasted.

A band's best album is the first one I heard, they started getting worse moving forwards and/or backwards from there.

Are there any decent metal review sites left? I don't want to just blindly listen to everything recommended but I do want some kind of filter to at least cut down on the amount of new content. I used to read Teufel's Tomb of all things and while I didn't agree with a lot of the staff, Teufel himself seemed to have similar tastes to my own and was a decent source of new material for a few years. He talked up the first Gore Bash EP and it's still a fun listen.

In the Constellation of the Black Widow was really loving good. Vanitas and Hell is Empty... are ok. But this new album and the previous one just feel repetitive and uninspired to me. I felt bored before the first listen was over. But I still throw on Constellation from time to time; good poo poo, that one.

metal-archive is actually decent because there are normally many reviews for said album. Most of them are surprisingly well written you got to read more than 1 review though because sometimes its obvious its written with pure bias.

This ep is almost 50minutes so it is basically a full length album.

From a few interviews I read it seems Agalloch had lots of issues behind the scenes which probably affected their last album's quality. I hope the new bands that came out of their members are good.
