The existence of book trailers has always been baffling to me, publishers swear by it and cite marketing polls but it's always felt like a dying industry blindly grasping at whatever they can to look hip and relevant and everyone just playing along because they assume they know what they're doing. Having an entire companion film like this seems like the logical extension of that and I'm glad it seems to have crashed and burned.

Book trailers, on the other hand are a surefire way to tell you that the book won't be worth reading at all.

There's a new episode about a hockey porn novel up! The good news, if you like Rachel Millman, is that Rachel Millman returns as a guest. The bad news is that her audio seems to have been recorded in a subway tunnel with a mic from a mid-90s Compaq Presario.

The bad news is this book features heavy use of the phrase "drooling beav" and it sounds more like an F Plus episode about 15 minutes into the episode. I'm hype.

This was the first episode I couldn't finish, mostly because of how terrible the guest and her constant loud HAWHAWHAW-ing was.

Hell, I couldn't start it. I was going to listen to it on the go and had to switch to music when she decided to introduce herself by shrieking into the microphone. They needed to do a volume pass on her audio or something.

this is the 3rd time she's been a guest host so you'd figure you guys would either be used to it or know if you don't like her to skip the episode

The best news is hearing Jay squirm throughout

Doesn't sound like it's her fault really, it just sounds like the recording's a bit bad and her mix is a bit louder than Jay and Chris. I can also hear some clicking from her audio track too.

I think Rachel Millman is pretty great. I feel like I should hate her ridiculous laugh, but for some reason I don't. Her microphone is every bit as terrible as in previous episodes, though.

I just listened to the Forerver Phucked, and the image that it painted, of a grown-rear end woman talking to man's penis and saying, ''I''ll suck you later" made me burst out laughing in public.

The bit about how he considers his penis a separate person was also incredible, if only for how common it seems to be in trash bag romance novels.

Domain is the sequel to The Rats and starts off with London being destroyed by a nuclear bomb. It's loving awesome, in that horrifying way, and when I was a teenager I loving loved it. Everyone has to go live underground in bunkers ...BUT THERE ARE STILL RATS!

INCOMING! This time they're taking on Tori Amos's Piece by Piece with returning guest Lauren Parker from the Casino Royale episode which I still haven't listened to yet. I've only heard the first minute so far but Jay already sounds really, really angry at this book.

She writes as though the biggest obstacle to getting the help you need is a reluctance to ask — not, say, ingrained social structures having to do with race and class".[7] padijun fucked around with this message at 18:39 on Nov 1, 2016 |
