Thanks! I also found their Bandcamp page which has a "UK tour mixtape", consisting presumably of their biggest songs.

They have quite a few albums, is there a particularly good starting point you recommend? I'm more of a whole-album person than an individual song person myself, when it comes to getting into new music.

Side note, I really like the lead singer's voice. Puts me in mind of Midlake, a little. (Edit: ok not really like Midlake but there's something there I like)

For the old stuff, give Hello Hum a listen, then I can't recommend the new Great Detachment album more, it's my favourite. You can pick and choose songs from the older stuff but for whole album going at it that's what I'd recommend. Agreed on the lead singer's voice, it's unique and awesome. They're superb live, this weekend will be the 3rd time I've seen them.

Im half way through the album White Men Are Black Men Too - by Young Fathers and its really really good. Very similar to TV on the Radio. Check out the album now, and start with the song Shame if you want a good taste of it.

wmabmt is great but their earlier, more hip hop stuff is better imo

you could probably make a brilliant album by combining all the songs from tape one/tape two

I remember them as a great Americana band that sounded like a great mix of fleet Foxes and tom Waits

Apparently they're a noise rock band now?

these guys are great. one of the best albums of the year in my humble opinion. fantastic R&B record that's got some interesting production and variation throughout--some reggaee, some light psych, rock 'n roll.

If you're a fan of minimal, weird electronic stuff like Actress, Debruit, etc, you should definitely check out "All Kind Music," the new album by Georgia. It's on Spotify. I think this will end up on my top 10 list for 2016.

The only public thingie I can find is this preview video that plays 20 seconds or so of each track:

For the past few years we've taken a local band and done a "free" music video for them (we typically eat the out of pockets for creative freedom). This is our latest one for a group called Fides.

https://vimeo.com/192876762

I didn't have much to do with this one because of time constraints and I certainly didn't "concept" (I put concepts in quotes because I'm not sure it has one).

Nonetheless I like the song.

If noise is your thing that's cool, but the Low Anthem now sounds like four people who didn't even tune up for sound check and everything is washed out in reverb.

I love RTJ and rap, but the direction the new generations of rap and hip hop that came into the scene last year and this year is much different from what RTJ is. RTJ sort of somehow became one of the biggest rap groups/live festival artists over time. They had a lot of hype off the first album and followed it up pretty quickly with RTJ2 which personally I thought was great. But then you have artists like Migos, Young Thug, Rae Sremmurd, Vince Staples, Chance the Rapper, Future and some more that have been going into a new sound and vibe. All this plus a new Kanye album, which found him reinventing himself again.

RTJ is like your typical rappity rap group that can still get people excited, especially live, but their sound hasn't really progressed that much from the first album. They have put out a few singles off RTJ3 and they sound like what you would expect them to sound like. You have to remember that the first album came out in 2013 and rap has evolved so much since then. People gravitate to new sounds all the time and when something just sounds like what the old poo poo sounded like, then it gets boring for many rap fans. They've heard it before.
