POOL IS CLOSED posted:I wonder if the brothers have ever personally had real money troubles? Because that attitude seems to indicate "no." What that guy seems most troubled by is failure, not unprofitability, and that's an ego concern, not a survival one. Thus it makes sense why he'd be bewildered about his employees being upset by nonpayment. He assumes they're all in this together -- and "this" is his success. This is a possibility. Definitely a personal issue more than a general CEO one, but the results are the same. People under them get screwed, they move on to the next company or project.

His next realization is going to be that CIG has actually been lying to everybody since Chris moved off of the Kickstarter goals into whatever he thinks is going to materialize before him, as the living universe of Star Citizen where everything happens like real life because Chris implied it was easy and promised it.

Beet Wagon posted:loving lol if the final death of Star Citizen comes at the hands of the Queen's taxmen. I honestly think it would be poetic and the good ending. Their greed for money is disgusting, I only think it would be fitting if that greed and disgusting tactics they used to be shady as gently caress are what ultimately do them in. And to think, to bypass the whole mess all they had to do was release a new version of Freelancer or something with a fresh graphical shine (2 years ago).

That's part of the £4m that Foundry 42 Ltd were expecting to receive from HMRC for the video games tax credit (£1m is from 2014). At that time it only really existed on paper. On the profit and loss account as a tax rebate (making them show a profit equal to the rebate) and on their balance sheet as an asset for the full amount. It's largely irrelevant until it crystallises since it would appear they are sensibly not relying on it yet. I have no idea what the actual state of this tax credit is, other than it would appear at a glance that Foundry 42 Ltd should not qualify for it.

I give them a pass at not having Battleships since the concept ceased to be an effective weapon halfway trough WW2. Planes outrange the biggest guns and no ammount of belt or bulge armor is going to save you from a dive bomb trough the deck (Yamato) or a torpedo on your rudder (Bismark). Battleships became nothing more than slow, juicy targets slurping precious fuel. aleksendr fucked around with this message at 21:36 on Dec 13, 2016 |

Wolf Larsen presents....quote:As part of INN’s ongoing mission to attract and welcome new members to the growing Star Citizen community, we’d like to start a program that helps us make a difference. We’re pleased to introduce the Sponsor a Spaceman Program. The concept is simple, if you’ve got a few bucks laying around and you want to help INN make somebody’s Star Citizen dreams come true, this is the way to do it. Rather than just give away ships to randomly drawn individuals all year, this is one special program where the decision will be made based on need. A Neurotic Corncob posted:Wolf Larsen presents.... They are after the more resonable player who only bought a basic package. A good % of those who write the essay but dont win will end up buying in anyway after having spent so much time thinking about how they would use the conveted asset. Engagement as a sale tactic is textbook classic for high margin goods, have the fence sitting buyers create their own feeling of need. Maybe the whale oil is getting stale and they want to harvest the "middle class" of backers ? aleksendr fucked around with this message at 21:49 on Dec 13, 2016 |

Alternatively, let go of all artists and just use programmer art till game systems work together in a proven manner, and then worry about fidelity. Hi Derek.
