Also enclosed spaces warm up quickly, and cats prefer warmer temperatures than humans. Which is why they crash out in sunbeams and in front of heating vents.

I have this fairly big cushy tv chair as my "computer chair", big enough that my cat has plenty of room to lounge around half in my lap and half on the arm rest. Unfortunately he has no qualms about his butt invading my keyboard that I keep on my knees. I don't have any photos of it, but I did make this vivid top-down view illustration for a friend once.
