What do you guys think are the best epics (orange) ? So far flatline seems decent if you intend to be midrange most of the time (up close it wont compete against regular nv4) but I'm really curious which ones are just THE best.

I'm actually having fun playing this game after the fixes they've made to it. It's still not objectively good, or as fun as BLOPS 3, but I at least have some fun playing it now. Unlocked C4 with my unlock refund, then proceeded to unlock the Volk. I got the Volk variant that is the single shot fire, and it's beastly. Does anyone even still play this on Xbone?

Invective, Mammoth, maybe Ripper or Flatline. Most of the others are gimmicky, though the EBR Bomber sniper, and all three of the epic pistol variants are interesting, but you don't want to burn salvage on pistols. The Reaver Rodeo is pretty good too, but same issue as the pistols. The Invective is basically free high cal on a solid AR, the Mammoth is a unique weapon, the only 2sk LMG in the game and pretty crazy for it. The Ripper is marginally more dangerous than the base RPR which is already one of the best weapons in the game if you can handle it. Flatline is good at what it does, though I don't think its worth the salvage over any of the rare or legendary variants of the NV4. I think Javes has 3/4 of those now that I think about it, the dirty tryhard. Meanwhile I got three copies of the same epic pistol in one night  (honestly for most guns, different rare or legendary variants are the most effective versions, the only epics that really interest me are the ones that do something totally unique like the Mammoth, Bomber, Goliath, pistols, etc)

Invective and Mammoth are the best epic variants you can craft. The Ripper probably isn't worth the 4,000 salvage but the increased smg RPM is nice and reduced idle sway is helpful in AR mode. Edit: beaten

We pooped on a clan using that setup the other night in Dom (despite losing to a team of five newbies), that was satisfying. I hope the diamond shotgun I was using on them made them extra salty. End result: Not unusual to see half the killfeed being the NV4. Blech. (despite my bitching, the NV4 is the only remaining standout gun that bugs me, and its not even close to the level of the pre-nerf BO3 Vesper - pretty much all of the ARs/subs/LMGs/pistols are good and usable, and the Longbow and Reaver are both strong, the NV4 is mostly just annoying)

Now that I'm using the synaptic's ability for a speed burst after every kill I see why one-kill melees are no longer a thing. As it is I've paired that ability with the dual submachine guns and I'm much much improved. I am a whirling dervish of awful hip firing death.

Basically you need to get in their face with an OSA because an smg won't kill it in time even in a hip fire battle. gently caress the NV4. (First gun I got gold camo on in this game.  )Now, the real heroes are the men (there are no women in IW) who wrestle the OSA recoil like a crocodile because if you are near someone, they will die. Akimbo HVR? Epic reaver? Reactive armour and an NV4 with laser and hollow? OSA is going to take you roughly from behind.

What does annoy me is that if you're playing against a good NV4 user, they're practically unidentifiable since there's no reason to not use Suppressor and Ghost on the NV4, and they're probably using Dead Silence too. The KBAR has a very competitive TTK within 20m, SMGs don't have their handling advantages with ADS/sprintout, and most importantly for me, I cannot reliably challenge AR users at midrange. I can live without aim assist but TTK is really poor past 20m and the recoil is unpredictable on most of the SMGs. And why use the other LMGs when the RAW has superior TTK, recoil, and is a 3HK suppressed at most ranges you'll see? I got BM in BO3 and a reason why I liked going for it was that I felt like nearly every weapon was viable, or at least had its niche. In IW, I can only really justify using ARs (Type 2 excepted) or the RAW.

I had COD points lying there doing nothing so I used them up today and opened 40 crates. Got 3 legendary weapons and 6 epics!!!! the epics were 2 taunts, 3 calling cards (1 dupe) and the epic hailstorm

So, dies anyone know what the body multipliers are for that epic burst revolver? Because it is seriously the most inconsistent piece of poo poo I've ever used. I've lost count of the number of times I've heard three ticks at point blank and my target has lived to kill me dead. Swear to God, if you don't hit the heart, the enemy doesn't die. Also, loving  at it having a "rapid cycle rate" when it's slower than the RK5, less accurate, and only carries 12 rounds per load, vs. 15.
