She is the sweetest. Came right up to me at the shelter, claimed me as her human with vigorous shinbumping and hand-rubbing. Almost didn't let me out to sign the papers. Was 100% chill the entire ride home in her carrier, just begging for pets by reaching out with a teeny paw every time I stopped headscritches. Totally unafraid as she explored my room.

Right now, she's done sniffing everything in the world and sleeping on my bed. This is what she did before stomping in circles and flopping to sleep.

Also, she asks for pets by reaching out with a paw. If she's in reach, she pokes me gently with no claws. :3: "Excuse me, human, would you mind petting me?"

What a content little kitty!

According to my local shelter, tripod cats move pretty quickly but the one-eyed cats and t-rex cats do not. You can probably get a good deal on one!

I've met a one-eyed cat. He likes to rub his cheek when you offer him his hand, but if he does it on his blind side he sometimes misses.

It's tragidorable.

They recognize object categories, so it's entirely possible he knows this is where pens go.

I can't remember where I saw this, but a while back I read about a little girl who left food out for the crows that hung out in her back yard. The crows started bringing bits of glass and soda can tabs in exchange. :3:

Edit: didn't notice at first, but a YouTube of exactly that is posted in a reply to that very tweet

I guarantee there's other song birds around if you keep a sharp eye out. Unless you have blue jays around.

This reminds me of a thing that happens here. My house is right on a steep hill, so the upper branches of a couple of trees are right next to my kitchen window. This means that pretty frequently when I get up to get a glass of water, there will be a few birds sitting right outside the window. Usually it's a couple of random wrens but a few days ago a cardinal landed right at the window and started chirping.

FINE I bought one. But I'll give it to my parents, they actually feed birds. I'm sure that despite appearances there are more than woodpeckers, squirrels, and falcons in the woods behind my house, but I've not really seen evidence of that.

Depends on where you live. All I ever got at my feeder in Florida was crows. In Michigan I'd see a dozen different songbirds a day.
