You can listen to it on Bandcamp. It's also :filez:

Weird. It's in my collection and says I own the whole album but I'm only able to download the sample song and the prologue.

Sammy Davis Jr. Jr. is also in repose.
The Bandcamp page says it doesn't release until February 17. I don't know why, since the album is out, but I assume that's why the whole thing isn't available on Bandcamp. Although it appears to be for some people, so maybe somehow it's a regional thing? It is on Youtube.

Cultes Des Ghoules is unreal. 100 minute "black metal play" should be a loving mess but it's stunning. I love it when bands try something ambitious and it's even better when they pull it off. Very interested to see how the 3LP is presented.

I thought it was just way too long and had too many dull riffs.

Was going through my ancient music collection (haven't bought anything new since 2010 or something), and had almost forgotten how much black metal I have. I'm totally out of the loop when it comes to this poo poo, and it would be nice to check out some new stuff if anyone has recommendations to give.

I'm pretty open-minded about my music (Shpongle and Shining CDs sitting next to each other :v:), but something similar to these two would be especially nice:

Newer Goatmoon is funny because of all the parts he puts in that sound like riverdance or something. It's kind of like those hoedown bits on Nokturnal Mortum's Nechrist but not as good.

I'm drinking whisky and listening to The Goddamn Gallows, and I'm pretty sure The Maker is a black metal song but they forgot the distortion? I dunno. In any case, they covered In League With Satan years ago, so there's that.

Have any of his previous albums come out on disc? I'd like to own them and after a while YouTube streams don't really cut it for me.

His 3 main albums are on CD and available at the regular distros, but his demos are all on tape or 7" only and the compilations of those demos are only on 12".

I went and saw this band Infernal Coil yesterday and their set was great. They reminded me a lot of Impetuous Ritual and Knelt Rote: https://infernalcoil.bandcamp.com/releases

Cross posted from the metal thread, y'all probably have a better handle on this q:

Can anyone link me to some well written articles about Theistic satanism and black metal? Idk too much about the ideology of the whole black metal scene, but it seems like contemporary bands are actually religiously satanic, but older bands tended to use so called satanic imagery as a mark of like outsider status and rejection of Christianity. Am I wildly off the mark, or is this a real trend? Link some articles or provide your own insights, please. Religious satanism seems incredibly bizarre to me

It's been a trend since Ofremod's Mystérion Tés Anomias EP popularized it. I don't really read about black metal, so I can't link to articles, but you can start there.

Don't have anything on hand to link, but I would recommend looking through interviews on Bardo Methodology. He gets a lot of good interviews with black metal bands and they seem quite candid with him.

This site is a real treasure, thanks. Just read the interview with the main guy behind Vassafor, when they do shows they have 100+ dead rats on stage, which they disguise the scent of with incense. The incense only lasts half the show though lol.
