I got invited onto a friend's friend's discord server the other day to play some dumb game with them all, and one of them was talking about Star Citizen. He had absolutely no idea what was going on with the development but was talking about how cool it was and how he had a Freelancer and all this stuff. I just kept my mouth shut, I didn't want to be that guy. My friend (who knows the whole story and apparently follows me around on reddit to laugh at weirdos) sort of prompted me and was like "Oh Beet put a bunch of money into it to" and the dude started talking about wanting to try out the PU and winging up and poo poo. The silence after I said "Oh uh... I can't. I got a refund." was deafening.

Today was a good day. Got good news from eye doctor that nerves look good and eye pressure was down into the "normal" range, high side of normal, but lower than it was a few weeks ago so doesn't look like I'll be going blind anytime soon. Also, Frontier released the 2.2.03 update for Elite which is a drastic QOL patch. Doesn't fix everything, but drastically improves combat and ship balance in general as well as addresses some of the problems with power play. Also the update makes VR even better in the Rift at least. Not sure about other headsets, but it was already an amazing experience. Still Elite is not going to be all things to all people. I will be interested to see this character creator and the PS4 version.

We only needed to wait until CIG was back for their first full week at work for the reddit to be set on fire again. People are starting to wake up and realise that the next month or so is going to be 2.6.1 (aka. 2.6 - PROPER) and that CIG is going dark on 3.0. Good thing that CIG has taught everyone that no news is bad news so that we can have drama everyday.
