Has anyone mentioned The Dead South? A folk band out of Canada (Saskatchewan)

They're a new enough band that yesterday when I went to their webpage it was under construction and their Facebook link doesn't work. That said, they got vids!

jakes did this?
So I posted this in recommendations looking for something like him because I'm kinda stunned right now. He sorta reminds me of Talking Heads a bit, but Yasuaki Shimizu is the absolute truth. I can't believe he made this in 1982. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKY38Nx8dSo The way he shifts between different melodies/tempo kind of makes me think of something like Built to Spill's Perfect from Now On, or Charles Mingus when he's really wild. quadrophrenic mentioned Tortoise as well which also fits.

He has another album with the band Mariah that is equally as stunning (1983!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCW2p4HYPJg&list=PLhBPKoI-NFNRrGX09F7Q4sk2vKNiviIaJ

Here's another track that reminds me of Moondog: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQFf8a1lhWQ

New song/video from Super Furry Animals' bassist's other band/side project. It's him and his wife making most of the music. Their first album was really good, so I'm looking forward to this.

Those lyrics make it sound like Amber Coffman isn't with the band anymore.

New album is out February 24th and, judging by the other songs released, it's probably all David Longstreth.

Yeah, it doesn't really sound like single material, but:

That's the Trump Tower lobby at the beginning, so that would probably explain the timing/reason behind this drop.

I like it but it is a somewhat bizarre choice, lead single or not. Hewlett confirmed new art for the album and after a break of so long, a flashy video would have been a massive return.

That Pitchfork article linked above states that Dave recently co-wrote/produced Amber's album, which seems crazy to me given the emotion in those new songs from both of them. Or, maybe, I just wish that if they could work together for that, they could also record another DP album together someday...
