It worked for Thor since THE GOD OF THUNDER is suitably grandiose. Everything since....eh.

Before The Social Network I had to read the tagline, then dart my eyes all the way down to see who's in it and if they're handsome or not, so it's been a big time-saver.

Divorced from everything else (like the planned series) I think the trailer for the King Arthur movie looks good. Probably because it is the Guy Ritchiest Guy Ritchie trailer.

Who doesn't want a shiny severed head of Jamie Foxx that looks like he's doing a live-action Megamind on their shelf?

He looks like he's in the middle of telling you about his plans to drive to Cleveland for Easter even though he's really not all that into going but he's gotta because Nana is very old and probably won't see another Easter and won't he feel just awful if she dies and he doesn't see her one more time before that happens?

It turns out that while the head lights up, the little electric meter on his temple stays completely dark. This is literally the only full-scale light up Jamie Foxx head ever made available to consumers, and it's not even screen accurate.

I've heard Bates Motel is actually really good, but I've never been able to get past how utterly bugfuck the premise is. It's not the kind of thing you can do without tongue in cheek at least a little, and yet it's seemingly totally po-faced.

I watched the first season. It's a dumb crazy premise, and it propels itself on ripping off Twin Peaks, surprise twists, and uncomfortable amounts of emotional abuse/low simmering incestual attraction. It's kinda a show I can respect for knowing exactly what it is and finely executing on it. It's not great TV, and much in the way that Twin Peaks was a Soap Opera that occasionally delves into uncomfortable horror, so is this. Personally it was a guilty pleasure that I never got around to continuing.
