A little amateur, but it really helped me put the pieces together, which made the player's guide in the OP much more helpful. Edit Also, he sounds like the 'knife-wielding tentacle' guy, which is always a plus.

Quick Question: Are there any nights that are particularly bad for deadlines for anyone? I plan on having each turn last 48 hours except for winter which will be 24 hours. Deadlines at 10pm EST. Are Sunday nights bad? Is anyone busy for all of Wednesday? Thanks.

Maybe I can say "Hey, I have all the orders in, I'm going to close the turn in an hour unless someone says something." Also, I'm going to do that thing again where if everyone agrees in thread or in discord to shorten a turn/turns, I'll have no problem doing that.

Additionally, Kash and Somber would like shorter deadlines. I want to make the first year a bit longer so that everyone can get used to how the game plays and so alliances and things can be comfortably made but I'm thinking about Fall 1901 I'll just make the game 24 hour deadlines.

I disagree. I'd say keep the deadlines a little longer until at least 1903? Please? It's very hard to communicate with everyone on a reasonable timeframe within only 24 hours. Basically, if you make 24 hour deadlines, Germany and Austria might as well concede now.

Honestly I am not in favor of shorter deadlines. Sometimes people get busy, or have medical stuff happen (like my migraines) that would make discussion and decisions within a shorter frame difficult. Later in the game once some people are eliminated sure, but to start with? 48 hours is perfect imo

If you need an extension for any good reason, let me know. I'm very willing to be flexible on deadlines. Finally, I will never auto-fail an order due to syntax. If I don't know what you mean by an order, I'll let you know, so don't stress out. I am right now about to set up the Discord channel for diplo in the samafia server.
