Did they just kill a baby to keep Starfire from kissing someone? They didn't seem to give any shits about the safety of the townspeople. Moral is "The Titans are unrepentant dicks."

Honestly, if Starfire kissed Raven it would've been fairly boring because Raven doesn't have as severe quirks as Beast Boy or Cyborg.

ArmyOfMidgets posted:Stephen Wacker, old Marvel Editor now in charge of the animation division, has been getting a lot of hate over Ultimate Spider-man being "cancelled" for a new Spider-man cartoon. Wait, they cancelled it after this 4th season? Thank gently caress. I've tried, again and again, to give that show a shot. I've spoken to some of the people working with it, detailing what they're aiming for these last 2 seasons, really trying my best to just watch them with an open mind despite how awful the first few seasons were. But the only result of them switching focus was going from a completely awful product with somewhat memorable characters who had their arcs slowly start to become at least interesting, to completely bland meshes of characters, meaningless stories and passable action. How in the world that thing got to be the longest-running Marvel animation I've no idea.

At first I thought they were advertising a second episode with Lebron, but it turns out they're dedicating commercial space to a dang rerun. That's not even one of the better TTG episodes. One of the weaker ones, actually.

I really like that "you can't fade away" song that beast boy sings. I should grab my guitar and figure it out, it sounds like it uses that "C - G - Am - F" kind of thing that so many pop songs do.

Like a lot of people, I saw some TTG videos show up on my youtube page and just dismissed it as a juvenile show for babies - I'm glad I checked it out, because it's a hilariously juvenile show for babies. And it's great! After binge-watching three seasons, I've started to check out the original series and ironically it just looks ridiculous. What did people see in it? Anyways, here's some stuff that I found awesome about TTG:

The most recent one was a good episode about Beast Boy and Raven becoming a couple. I'm always amazed at the level of writing in this show. I also paused when the top Jump City hits chart was up and its all songs from the show. The level of detail is up there with the writing.

It was something mature and serious for kids that were also watching Toonami-edited anime for grown-ups but were still at the age when their parents wouldn't let them watch R-rated stuff. It tried as hard to be cool as the kids watching it. That's my best guess. I much prefer Robin as a power-hungry rear end in a top hat than the cool, controlled leader whose character flaw is that he's just so mysterious or what the gently caress ever.

It's one of those things that you can really fall for when you're younger but seems more ridiculous when you get older, like Dragonball Z or Shadow the Hedgehog. The goofy parts are still fun though, and the serious parts can be alright when it's not totally up its own rear end about it. TTG may be different, but it's not entirely unlike the original series.

They revealed the plot of the 200th episode. The Titans realise they are animated and gets to meet the people making this show. Unimpressed with that they see, the Titans decide to take over the production of TTG themselves but find out that making cartoons is harder than they thought.

I really appreciate the way that in "BBRae" they actually had everything Beast Boy was thinking about in the episode became part of the final song. Even Robin was actually able to make his crazy helpful, by showing Beast Boy how to use his fears and neuroses to make art!

When Leprechaun Beast Boy is ranting about the gold standard, the dollar bill he's in is signed by Treasurer F (for Frank) Underwood. The treasury secretary is Sean Kreiner, the board artist of the episode.

I had a conversation with someone at work about revamped shows after trying to get them interested in watching Jack Season 5 and he was hesitant because he doesn't like how Teen Titans Go turned out. Which is fine, I made a joke about people complaining about it saying "they ruined my childhood~" but he didn't really fall for it like a mister enders type. I also didn't feel the need to tell him "dude, of course you don't like it, it's made for kids of today - not us" because eh. Why stick it to a guy that just didn't really care?
