Honorable Inquisitor Lexington, In response to your request, and after due consideration of your superior record of service in the Ordo Xenos, as well as favorable reports from Lord-General Rega, it has been decided to grant you the authority to command a Kill-Team of Deathwatch Astartes. This carries with it the associated duties and restrictions established with the Wienand-Warfist accords, ratified and made supreme law by the High Lords of Terra. As there is no extant team in need of command, you shall be allowed to draft your own squad (henceforth designated "Kill-Team Sigma") from the provided dossiers. The final composition of Kill-Team Sigma is dependent upon final authorization by the Watch-Captain, and may change without prior notice due to necessity and circumstance. In addition, the Watch-Captain has given his blessing to the dispatch of Kill-Team Sigma on the proposed reconnaissance mission, assuming it can be assembled in a prompt fashion. Should time become a factor, he reserves the right to re-assign the mission to a team and command of his choosing. In the name of the Emperor, Scribe Gurix ++ Thought for the day: By the manner of their death we shall know them. ++ ----------------------------------------------- What is this even? This is a Deathwatch RPG campaign, almost entirely conceived as an off-week game for the already existing In the Shadow of the Eye of Terror game. Who's it for? We could use a couple more dudes! How we doing this? Discord for audio, Roll20 for the table. The plan is every Sunday we don't have the other game, we'll have one of these. The time slot seems to work, so we'll start 9-10am PST GMT-8/5-6pm GMT+0 unless we want to alter that. How do we character? Standard character creation, with the point allocation option. Let me know if you want to be a custom chapter, we can work it out. Other than that, have at it, as far as background the only limit is you're new to the deathwatch (maybe a mission or two). "Bastion" (Sebastian Gustavus van Dorn) You can see why he's called the "Bastion" - he's utterly massive, probably the largest Space Marine you've ever seen, wrapped in ancient, gore-stained armor that groans as it struggles to contain his bulk. He looks like he could breach a fortress with his head - with his helmet off, he looks like he has. He's young by the standards of the Deathwatch. Driven. More than just a hunger for glory, he assaults every enemy like he's avenging a personal slight, grudgingly, like it's a sliver of some larger insult. He's only grown more intense since induction into the Deathwatch. His craggy face relaxes from its perpetual scowl as he salutes you. It's a horrifying expression, but he does appear to be genuinely pleased to meet you. "I am a master of the pain glove, but it's nothing compared to the training of the Deathwatch. I look forward to serving with you." pre:Mastercrafted Force Sword 70/75 1d10+22R P8 *Swift Attack *+10 WS +2 Damage vs Xenos or Heretics *+10 WS vs TRAITORS! *Opposed WP +1d10/DoS Ignores Armor&Toughness *+10 Feint *-30 WS to enemy when in Defensive Stance Duty's End, Imperial Fist's Relic Storm Shield +15 Parry Guarded Attack Half Action Smite Modified like Ranged attack Reg *115 *60m 6d10E P6 Blast(6) *Phenomena on Doubles Lite *100 *30m 3d10E P3 Blast(3) Max *125 *90m 9d10E P9 Blast(9) *Phenomena *Fatigue on Doubles Wave of Penance Dodged as AoE attack Reg *115 *60m 6d10X *Phenomena on Doubles Lite *100 *30m 3d10X Max *130 *90m 9d10X *Phenomena *Fatigue on Doubles Psy Rating VI Fear 1 Hates Traitor Legions Hunts Aliens Scourges Heretics Spend Reaction to Interfere with Enemy Psyker within 80 meters Opposed Willpower Move Half/Full/Charge pre:Name: Bastion Rank: 5 (30000/35000) Hero Chapter: Imperial Fists Specialty: Librarians Past: Brothers No More Demeanor: Sons of Dorn, Hot-Blooded Trapping: Icon of the Iron Cage Solo Ability: Siege Master Squad Attack: Tactical Bolter Drill, Unto the Breach Squad Defense: Hold at All Costs, Exemplar of Stoicism WS**-- (06) 1x60 30+20+05S+05I BS---- (03) 1x35 30+00+05A St---- (12) 2x70 30+20(+20A) To**-- (12) 2x60 30+20+05S+05I Ag---- (03) 1x30 30+00 In*--- (04) 1x45 30+10+05S Pe*--- (04) 1x45 30+10+05S Wp**** (08) 1x80 30+20+10C+05S+05I+05T+E Fe---- (05) 1x50 30+00+20A WP 21/21 FP 3/3 IP 4 CP 2 Move Half/Full/Charge/Run 3/6/9/18 Skills 70 Awareness 40PE+20Auspex+10Familiar+05Armor+ & Reroll 70 Climb Concealment 30 Dodge 30 Drive (Ground Vehicles, Personal) 70 Intimidate 95 Invocation Navigation (Surface) 65 Psyniscience II Silent Move 60 Tactics (Assault) II 60 Tracking Cipers (Imperial Fists Runes) Literacy Speak Language (High Gothic, Low Gothic) 45 Common Lore(Adeptus Astartes, Deathwatch, Imperium, War) 45 Scholastic Lore (Codex Astartes) 45 Forbidden Lore (Pyskers, Xenos) 65 Forbidden Lore (Traitor Legions) II Talents Ambidextrous Bulging Biceps Deathwatch Training Hardy Hatred (Traitor Legions) Hunter of Aliens Iron Jaw Killing Strike Nerves of Steel Quick Draw Scourge of Heretics Sprint Strong Minded Swift Attack True Grit Unarmed Master Heightened Senses (Hearing, Sight) Resistance (Psychic Powers) Weapon Training (Astartes) Traits Unnatural Strength 2 Unnatural Toughness 2 Psy Rating VI Augury Possibility Shield Reading Short-Range Telepathy Long-Range Telepathy Smite Wave of Penance Gear pre:Familiar (Servo Skull) WS BS ST TO AG IN PE WP FE 15 15 10 20 30 15 35 20 -- Wounds 4 +10 Awareness +10 Concealment +00 Dodge +10 Silent Move +20 [SKILL] Fearless Dark Sight Flier (6) Machine (2) Size (Puny) Vox & Cogitator Quill, Ink, & Expanded Memory Storage To Librarian +1 Initiative +10 Focus Power +10 Awareness +10 Psyniscience pre:190/200 060 Duty's End, Imperial Fist Relic Storm Shield 050 Adamantine Mantle 050 Force Sword (Mastercrafted) 015 Psychic Hood 015 Jump Pack Power Armor History: 3#1d5 4 2 5 3#1d10 4 1 10 Power Armor History: Mark VII Elements: 1d10 6 Mark VII Helmet, overridden by Helm of Mordicus. Which book has the armor marks? I want to run around in a MK III. Also, I would appreciate it if we started an hour later than we start Dark Heresy, at least for this week. I have a FLGS management meeting and since I'm one of the people (probably the person) calling for the resuming of weekly FLGS meetings, it would be bad if I missed the first one. Unfortunately, I don't have bluetooth, so I don't think that I could roleplay on my phone in public transport on my way back!

Going to volunteer to be Leader next game, and since we know we'll be fighting Tau, we should go with the Oath of Knowledge and its sweet, sweet +10 BS&WS vs a Xeno species. Also, in the core book, all the servitors require Distinguished Renown.

Heads up, next session I will be in Dover, UK. Attendance hinges on being able to find some wifi and a place to game. I'm probably not going to be able to see the maps, either. If I can't make it, assume Bastion lost the key to his Pain Glove and is waiting for the Techmarines to forge a new one.

Hey, so to save a bit of time and make sure we accomplish as much as possible this Sunday, you guys are getting a basic mission briefing now so you can choose your Requisition in advance. +++++ Members of Kill-Team Sigma, Your presence is required on Serendipity 1723-21. Approach in stealth, and do not attempt to make contact with the local authorities or PDF. They are to be considered possibly hostile, and fully expendable. You will be given a sealed information canister to be opened upon planetfall, which contains the identity of a friendly asset in the planetary capital, and the method of contact. They will brief you on the full mission details. For your preparations, in addition to said expendable local human forces, expect to come in conflict with Tau elements. Infantry, drones, and battlesuits, with light vehicle support are all possibilities. Entering an established base, by stealth or overt assault, is likely to be required. Under expected circumstances, extraction will not be long in coming. Always faithful, Inquisitor Lexington +++++ Imperial Records: Serendipity 1723-21 Serendipity is a world on the edge of Imperial space, so named as it was the nearest habitable world when a long-range scouting vessel experienced drive failure. The ship managed a landing, and the crew founded a small but stable colony that has persisted to this day. Due to its remoteness and lack of any substantial tactical value, the planet's defense is a low priority for Imperial Navy vessels, and it suffers from occasional pirate raids. +++++ ...aaand that should be enough to get the ball rolling. Turns out I read Requisition wrong last time, and it's supposed to be per-marine, so you guys get way more! Not that you ended up needing it. Anyways, let's go with 75 Requisition per marine. Go nuts.
