I'm having trouble thinking of Voyager and DS9 episodes to call in for Nexus requests that aren't the obvious picks, Threshold and Move Along Home.

Threshold is my lock for Voyager but I'm trying to think of an entertainingly bad DS9. So far I'm debating Worf Is A Prude: Part II or just dropping the nuke of Profit and Lace.

The "distressed pervert cartoonist talking about giant women" voice is amazing and also exactly how I imagine every sweaty R Crumb comic protagonist sounds.

I want a poster with "Pollen AKA Plant Cum" that I can frame and hang on my wall next to Chris Cabin's "The Cold Tears of Who Gives a poo poo". This episode was everything I hoped it would be.

I'd point the guys towards the F+'s episode on giantess fetish, but it might be too harsh of an entry point for non-Steve WHM members. Also, I kinda cheated and wrote in an episode of the New Adventures of Speed Racer for the Animation Damnation listener request thing. and related to the episode, I had a conversation with a pal about the worst movie to bee-ify and it'd be Borat. Bee-ry nice. He'd wear the stupid green banana hammock around his stinger

I would listen to "Is That a Thing?" because I find their bafflement and sweet, innocent naivete endearing and amusing.

Alright, help me decide between DS9 episodes to request: the baseball episode, The Trouble with Tribbles, or the one where Quark crossdresses for some reason that I can't remember? I kinda want to hear their Quark impression more, but the baseball one's a favorite as far as weird episode concepts goes.

Move Along Home is really loving weird too, and that's like the second episode of the show which makes it even stranger.

The Trouble with Tribbles episode (Trials and Tribble-ations) is great, though, so you shouldn't suggest that.

I mean, they have to do the ep where Janeway and Tom turn into salamanders and gently caress eventually, but I imagine at least 30 other people are gonna send that one in.

Its pretty bad outside of that moment. Its season 1 so most of the cast is still undefined and most have gently caress all to do during the episode. Also Vash and Q's relationship is just bad.

What's the episode where Harry Kim gets replaced with a quantum duplicate and everyone decides to never mention it again. That might be a good Threshold alternative.

I feel like all of my memories of Voyager are just "a stupid thing happened" completely devoid of context, like "Neelix and Tuvok got merged into a grotesque horror beast." I can't honestly remember a single enjoyable episode from the show's catalog.

Squallege posted:I can't find the listener request line number on their page (718) 925-3893. It was odd, in prior years it went to a voicemail with Steve (I think) saying to leave a message, but now it is a generic "leave a message". I double checked it was the right # from their Twitter. I requested Overboard. A romantic comedy where slavery solves everything should be good for riffing. I was going to request Cat in the Hat, but I haven't actually seen it so I'm not sure if it would work. For AD, I requested Real Ghostbusters "Ghost Busted" where they become vigilantes and crash a helicopter into the Empire State Building. Rewatching that cartoon, it must have been the only children's entertainment about budgeting. Instead of making "a lot of money!" they earn $30k or so for capturing criminals, which would be enough to keep the doors open. An oddly accurate continuation of the movie being about a small business. For the Nexus I requested Tinker Tailor Doctor Spy for Voyager. A decent episode, with a strong intro and heavy on the Picardo. Plus I was worried everyone would be requesting Threshhold. I considered Future's End for the terrible time travel and Ed Begley Jr. cameo, and how they go to 1990s Los Angeles that is Eugenic Wars free (because why explore an interesting part of series lore when you can make jokes about hippies and Tuvok's ears). But it's a two-parter and I wasn't sure it they wanted that. DS9 was tougher as that is legit one of my favorite shows. I considered Take Me Out to the Holodeck for the goofy baseball but that is kinda a dull episode, and Little Green Men has Quark heavy content, but that doesn't have the main cast doing a lot. I went with Trials and Tribble-ations, as the WHM crew seems to have a low opinion of DS9 (without having seen much) so I wanted to recommend a strong episode, and also because there is ton going on so it would have a lot of talking points.
