It probably wouldn't be too hard to come up with a USB attachment that has cell processing to emulate games. No support to someones chagrin. but not mine idgaf 4K Blu-ray is in a really weird place because it's a straight-up downgrade if you're not using a 4K HDR screen because the color grading is often done differently and in a way where you're expected to have HDR; most discs will even straight-up tell you to watch the regular Blu-ray instead if your equipment chain isn't 4K capable. It's a bit different from DVD and Blu-ray which were explicit full upgrades and where it did sort of make sense to get the media and player even if the rest of your equipment wasn't maxing out the format's potential.

There was actually a major concern with this format because the higher-ups in movie studios feared clandestine theaters. They still haven't figured out that only a miniscule segment of the population actually gives a gently caress how many p's the movie they're watching is at. I just realized tonight that I forgot to buy the 2 dollar Katamari game and I'm real salty about it. Is there a place that shows like price history or frequency of sales so I can convince myself that I didn't permanently miss out on the deal? E: the one time I forget to check the OP first. Doesn't explain why PS1 games can't run on a PS4 though, given that the PS4 is clearly powerful enough to fairly accurately emulate a PS1 (especially as Sony should know how a PS1 works, they made the drat thing). It's clearly powerful enough to emulate PS2 games with a few fancy features added in like trophies, consistent framerate and upping the display resolution with the PS2 Classics line, so I don't know why PS1 games are being skipped.

I mean apples are closer to oranges than bigmacs but it's a technical marvel they are able to emulate the 360 at all and especially so well.

Yeah. I'm pretty sad right now because my PS3 broke down. It was one of the old ones that had hardware support for PS1 / PS2 games, and I have a pretty big collection of those. Lately, I've wanted to got back and play the early Yakuza games, and I don't have a machine that can do that . Kiwami is coming out in a few months, and I wanted to do a comparison.
