poo poo goes sideways! Took a couple hours to wander around and play last night after the janky server issues smoothed out and was surprised to see that some mons will dodge your balls or actually move sideways, and diagonally. Probably old news, but it got my attention.

alright I stopped playing for a while and every gym has strong as gently caress pokemon am I basically supposed to grind my trainer level up to get a higher pokemon max like before or how does this work

Besides the name trick the apparent way to get espeon and umbreon is to walk with an eevee buddy for 10km then evolve them during the day or at night, respectively.

In addition to evolution catches giving more Candy, it looks like they come with more Stardust. I just caught a Ledian and it gave me 300 stardust out of the catch as well as 5 candy.

Might take more than one person to hammer them down. Luckily I haven't encountered any, but one of my 2800+ CP vapes is about to be first one out of a Level 9 gym, ftge.

FYI: Apart from the name trick, it looks like 10k+ walked eevee revolved in day = espeon, evolved at night = umbreon. Gonna test this some more. Sad that espeon > umbreon, I like umbreon way better. The sheer quantity of trash Pokémon is still a bummer  E: also the # of pogo players here is small enough there aren't that many lures, no nests are mapped, and submission based trackers don't work. You would need to catch around 32 Larvitars, assuming you transferred all but one of them, for the 125 candies (3+1 candies each). If you used Pinap Berries on all of them, and none of them ran away, you'd only need to catch around 17 (6+1 candies each). So it's theoretically doable, but you'd have to get lucky and find a Larvitar nest or two. e: or get REALLY lucky and just catch a wild Tyranitar, yeah.

drat new battling is rough. I used to be able to wreck 3k Dragonites with my 2k Frost Breath/Blizzard Cloyster. Just fought one and half the time the Dragonite killed me before getting blizzard off even once

Sentret, Swinub and Natu are everywhere here. Caught a couple each of Wooper, Marill, Hoothoot, Murkrow and Sneasel too. I like the first catch bonus, gives you an incentive to throw at trash mons even when you don't have a lucky egg. Pinap berries give more of a candy bonus on evolved mons so that's nice too.
