I only remember them mentioning that he got it in the match where he lost the ROH title to O'Reilly. He had it in their rematch at NJPW

Yea it was too long. The triple threat, ACH-Cobb and the two mains were good. But the women's match was horrible. The tag team thing was a clusterfuck. The commentary alone would probably make me not order again. I don't feel bad about spending $10 but that was just way too long.

I could honestly see Bucks retain and Cobb/Riddle challenge them right away after beating OI4K earlier in the night and becoming the new tag champs

Some matches I couldn't even pay attention to, like the Dijack/Rowe match, or the Scorpio Sky/the promoter's brother match because I'd been worn out from the previous big matches. The Strickland/Xavier/Fenix match was amazing, Cobb/ACH was good, and the fact that Scott Norton was in a ring round out the really good things. The Sexy Star/Ellering/Green and the Tag Match were just too loving long, with Sexy being really not good in the ring, and the tag match had a really dumb structure. I had fun seeing it and asking Shane Strickland about that kick to the neck he does, but they really need to get a handle on the length and just cut some of the goofy matches out. The Ricochet match was good, but Sammy Guevarra does nothing for me, even with that dumb as hell moonsault off the rafters. Happy I went, had a fun time, but the time commitment makes me glad I'm skipping the next one honestly, because it's not worth wading into SXSW.

I could see either of the non-Bucks teams in that triple threat being logical transitional champs, depending on how available Pentagon and Ricochet are (since Fenix is practically local now that he lives in SD and Sydal isn't exactly super busy after getting banned from Japan).

DDT4 is dead and why wouldn't you have one of the biggest tag teams in indie wrestling put over your next important champs that aren't transitional?

Because they already beat the Bucks once and they don't typically do the 'beat the champs in a non-title match to get a title shot' thing? Just because they skipped DDT4 last year doesn't mean it's gone forever, especially now that they're using way more tag teams this year already.

I'd be fine with Cobb and Riddle winning the belts by challenging them after the match too. I've nothing against the Bucks but they're clearly spread too thin considering they're the ROH Tag champs and are constantly swapping the Jr. Tag belts in NJPW as well.

aaw!!!!!!!!!!! Show started ~15 minutes late, presumably because they switched their ticket system up and you're supposed to bring a printed ticket now and exchange it for a wristband. Another 550+ sell-out of the seating, probably wasn't one of the 600+ shows with a packed standing room crowd at the bar. The Best Friends (Chuck Taylor/Trent Beretta) d. The Besties in the World (Davey Vega/Mat Fitchett) in the opener. Solid brisk start to the show with some fun chatter but less comedy than you might expect. Mostly a lot of near-falls being broken up by the tag partner. Scarlett Bordeaux demands in-ring interview time with Marty DeRosa. She announces she got her client Connor Braxton a big match tonight. DJZ comes out as his opponent and beats him with a diving ZDT from the stage into the ring. Braxton has size and a natural cleverness when he jaws in the ring but a few times here he reverted to very generic heeling where he would just do a move and then pose for a while. Matt Riddle d. Jason Kincaid. Riddle was the first person to get received like a star on the show. Kincaid has the worst gear and a weird gimmick but that doesn't necessarily work against him here where there are plenty of urban young adults. Kincaid did some unique offense around the ring including walking atop the guardrail and climbing up a big support column to jump on Riddle who was sitting on the apron, and those endeared the crowd to him. Trevor Lee came out with Jack Evans, who was on crutches. Jack cut a promo basically baiting his partner into defending his tag belt in a singles match which did not make any sense whatsoever. Trevor defeated Matt Sydal with a fisherman buster after getting his knees up on the shooting star. Neither of these guys is getting much from the crowd lately. Low-Ki d. El Hijo Del Fantasma in the latter's debut. Low-Ki gets some of the biggest chants of anyone and dueling chants got going during this one a couple times. Not a blow-away match by any means but a good even contest for its spot on the card. Marty DeRosa did a Raw-style post-match interview with Low-Ki after the win and said he's now in contention for the AAW title. The Unbreakable F’in Machines (Michael Elgin/Brian Cage) d. Scarlet and Graves (Dezmond Xavier/Zachary Wentz). This was originally going to be Xavier/Wentz vs. Lee/Evans but they had to shake the card up after Evans got injured. It might have turned out better this way because they structured a great match around the much smaller and younger Xavier/Wentz trying to compete with the comparatively gigantic Elgin/Cage. Dez has been here a lot over the last couple years and his Ricochet-like athleticism and smoothness is immediately apparent so he was over; they had Wentz kick out of an F5 from Cage, I believe, and it actually worked and popped the crowd. They followed up that kick-out by having Elgin/Cage give him about 5 consecutive powerbombs/finishers before trying another pin which also established him here, in a way. Elgin then put them over on the mic and he and Cage raised their arms. Very entertaining match. Abyss d. Eddie Kingston. Eddie had a video promo earlier in the show and he can just spin a compelling promo from nothing. This was the follow-up to Abyss interfering and injuring Homicide in the cage match last month. These guys brawled into the crowd for a while and Abyss ended up winning with a thumbtack spot. He was going to continue to beat him down but Low-Ki came out to make the save. Solid advancement of the story, Eddie is very over. ACH, AR Fox & Rey Fenix d. Sami Callihan & OI4K (Jake/Dave Crist) in a six-man tag team match. I know Callihan and the Crists had Cole and the Young Bucks at PWG the next night but even with the Bucks being the masters of these multi-man spectacles, I'd be surprised if they topped this. It was a halfway-pornographic full-throttle spotfest in which everybody looked great. Fenix pinned Callihan the champion to set up Fenix vs. Callihan again at the next LaSalle show. The promotion has run that match a couple times recently but they have good chemistry and they've not run it in LaSalle yet so cool to see them take it to a new audience.

Beyond yesterday in Providence was a really, really solid show. A lot of criticism last year over shows running long, matches going especially long when they shouldn't, and those issues seem to be solved. A couple of squash matches that made sense, a lot of matches ended in ways to move storylines along/actually create storylines, think there was only one post match "respect/hug/circle jerk" moment which seemed to happen after every match for some shows last year. Quick results with no comments attached to them. Singles Match Tracy Williams defeats Jay Freddie Tag Team Match EYFBO (Angel Ortiz & Mike Draztik) defeat Milk Chocolate (Brandon Watts & Randy Summers) Singles Match Sami Callihan defeats Rex Lawless Tag Team Match PAWG (Jordynne Grace & LuFisto) defeat Da Hoodz (Davey Cash & Kris Pyro) (w/Anthony Stone) Singles Match Jonathan Gresham defeats Chris Dickinson Tag Team Match Massage NV (Dorian Graves & VSK) defeat Chuck Taylor & Orange Cassidy (w/The Swamp Monster) Singles Match JT Dunn defeats Michael Elgin Singles Match Jaka defeats Keith Lee Tag Team Match Joey Janela & Penelope Ford defeat Ryan Galeone & Veda Scott Tag Team Match Da Hit Squad (Dan Maff & Monsta Mack) defeat Ace Romero & Brian Milonas Tag Team Match BroSteel (Chuck O'Neil & Matt Riddle) defeat The American Destroyers (Donovan Dijak & Mikey Webb) Singles Match John Silver defeats Zack Sabre Jr.
