I still can't get over the decision to have the HUD bounce up and down when moving instead of the map. How is that possibly FIDELITY??!?!?!?!

Well, you see, it's fidelitous that the head moves up and down when you run, but it is also fidelitous that the brain edits out that movements so you don't see it, but obviously something is bobbing and that has to be shown and the helmet model is tied to the character model so you get that movement for free, which is fidelitous, so they show that because it makes all the sense in the world that if your head moves but your vision does not, then the helmet that projects the HUD moves up and down in your field of vision and furthermore e: Honestly, I fear this insane rambling is a very accurate description of why it is like that…

Obviously they can't be losing backers and interest if they're hiring a third community manager.

They may be light touch but you can hardly argue that CIG is bad at community management. At this point the game is basically defined by its rabid community and their willingness to spend money, defend every aspect of the game and development cycle, spend money, dream big, rationalize each setback and delay, spend money. An ethical community manager would be like. "cool it guys, we have plenty of money" "maybe spend some time with your loved ones instead of buying more ships"

Gremlich has a child's understanding of the world yet tries to speak as if he is an authority on any subject that comes up. Also, some rear end in a top hat clearly got him a word of the day calendar and it's annoying trying to watch him shoehorn the newly learned big word into his idiot ramblings.

CIG is fantastic at community creation, but they're utter poo poo at community management. Managing a community is a lovely, thankless job that requires you to interact with obsessed fans who respond to even the slightest change with an almost religious fervor while you attempt to groom the community into something welcoming and devoid of toxicity. CIG, on the other hand, relentlessly exploits and treats their community like absolute poo poo. Their actions have directly lead to one of the most toxic and repugnant communities in the history of gaming, one so virulent and offensive that people actively avoid criticizing their beloved "game" so as to avoid being personally attacked. That's not management, that's marketing.
