If you haven't watched XMen: Evolution, you should. The first season and about half the second season suck balls, but then the show does a complete 180. I believe X-23 is introduced in season 3.

She appeared first in the comics in some mini series that sucked balls. X-23 Innocence Lost and X-23: Target X tells the origin story of X-23 from the comics, but by far her best series is X-23 by Marjorie Liu. Series ran for 21 issues.

X-23 was also featured in the X-Force/wolverine fest re-launch and I honestly thought it was good except for the yiffing.

Besides that, almost all of X-23 on a team is bland or bad. Bendis' use of X-23 is really bad.

Yeah, in addition to what's been mentioned All New Wolverine is pretty good, and I personally like the most recent (i.e. non-Bendis) All New X-Men.

If you're just looking to start with the character, though, Liu's run really is the best place to begin. And it also means you get to experience sexy pseudo-big brother Gambit, which is also good and positive.

Yeah but if you just buzz through the actual Dark Wolverine issues in the Collision trade the X-23 side leans hard enough on 'Daken is a creep and a loser' to be okay.

Which is good because Daniel Way really wants Daken to be the most loving badass character ever. I really don't know how Way continues to get work as I don't think he's ever written anything decent.

Unless there have been multiple puddle drownings (which, really, there should be) that was Remender but yeah, Uncanny X-Force is definitely the best usage of Daken for emphasizing just how pathetic he actually is.

It's especially bad in those few issues because it's all about him worming his way into Madripoor's underground with his stupid pheromones, which is deeply uncomfortable even without the issues themselves trying to play up Daken as cool instead of slimy.

Wasn't that Remender and not Aaron in Uncanny X-Force? Also did anything ever come from Daken being risen from the dead in Uncanny Avengers? I don't read monthlies anymore but am just curious.

Some teeth long for ripping, gleaming wet from black dog gums. So you keep your eyes closed at the end. You don't want to see such a mouth up close. before the bite, before its oblivion in the goring of your soft parts, the speckled lips will curl back in a whinny of excitement. You just know it.

Ehhh, that's not really fair. Daken came off as creepy and abusive because he was creepy and abusive. The bisexuality just meant he was creepy and abusive to both genders.

Considering the stereotypes bisexual people have to deal with, Daken is pretty much the least helpful kind of "representation" I could imagine, short of those two gay guys who tried to rape the Hulk at the YMCA.

I don't think any of the resurrected horseman have done much after that run (actually maybe Grim Reaper showed up to die again?) which is kinda nuts because they also brought back the loving Sentry with a death seed in him.

It was a short lived thing where they were trying to attract the manga crowd.

They stripped it off of everything that had it in reprints

I dont know what I hate more about Mangaverse, owning every issue, knowing most of it by heart or New Mangaverse's existence.

You will never be more pissed at putting time into a lovely series and a relauch opening up with a two page spread of the loving Hand killing almost every character in the setting, the image of a mother holding her 9 year old dead Marvel Boy or teenage Mary Jane getting poison sucked out of her by Black Cat via french kissing.

The series did feature Avengers sentai, Adam Warrens Fantastic Four Evangelion parody and T'challa's sister becoming Doctor Doom and decapitating Captain America with a sword. I think thats worth the investment.

Loki showed up to the high school dance, dosed everyone with truth serum until it backfired, then agreed to magically ward the school against danger. A couple of issues later looters show up during the final convergence before Secret Wars and they trigger the golems appearing.

It was a line to get the teens into marvel via the animoos! Including titles like:

*Venom by way
*Sentinel (iron giant but with everyone's favourite purple genocide robot)
*Namor ('s teenage romance adventure)
*Human torch (gets a job)
*Runaways

I think that terrible emma frost mini was a part of it too.

Yeah, I was confused when I read A) that that series was 'bad' and B) that it was a mini. It and the Mystique book ran for like 25-30 issues each. As did the Elektra book that Rucka and Bendis worked on for Marvel Knights. The early aughts were a good time for Marvel's 'bad girls'.
