Nah it would still be anime. It would have amazing backgrounds and the vehicles and combat scenes would be amazing but the pilots would all be 16 year olds who act like 10 year olds and 90% of the airtime would be about their stunted teen emotions and that the hardest battle isn't out there piloting a vehicle in a warzone, it's summoning up the courage to talk to a girl.

My ideal Brigador anime would be where the first 24 episodes set up all of the characters on each of the sides in a slice-of-life akin to Patlabor and get you to care about them, then the last 2 episodes are a giant battle where most of those characters are brutally killed in a fashion similar to Gundam:Iron-Blooded Orphans, leaving the few survivors scarred (physically and psychologically) for life. Actually, I just realized that IBO is similar to Brigador in a few ways-pretty much every faction is horribly evil in some form or another,and the Gundam is basically controlled with something akin to a neuro-jack.

A Brigadorn anime would be like Robotech, except instead of Mari Ijima saving the day with J-Pop you'd have Johnny trying to win over the Spacers with his slap bass cover of 'Woman' by Wolfmother.

I mean,I'd rather have either a live-action TV series or Saturday Morning Cartoon (think that godawful Battletech cartoon). But if there was an anime,that's what I'd go for.

That's probably the closest thing to a Brigador cartoon that exists. Just replace the goofy "Neo-Sapiens" with rear end in a top hat Spacers in their fancy suits,and you have a Brigador show.

So I've been grinding the first easy mission over and over to get money to blind-buy weapons and equipment. I don't quite get the game design purpose of making you buy items blind. I'd love to be able to read the descriptions and stats for a weapon befor I buy it. I keep wasting all my money unlocking guns then trying them then seeing they aren't for me :(

Way I do it is I play the missions,pay attention to the vehicle/weapon names in the pre-mission text, and buy the ones I like.

You start out with the hottest poo poo can roll pretty much anything effort-lessly. You spend money to unlock higher ranks on the difficulty ladder to challenge yourself with. It's exactly the reverse of other games.

Though I agree that it might be nice to see a little more info on locked weapons, you can preview a lot of them in the campaign mode (and also earn lots of $$$)

Yeah that's how I outfitted my treefort. I'm trying to branch out though because the tree fort is slow as gently caress and I'm always out of ammo.
So many of the weapons really take a long time to get used to. This is why I think more clear little aimy laser thing that's more dynamic and gives the player a better hint as to what the gently caress the shot will do would do a ton to get more "casual" players into the game, or just make the learning curve not need so much grinding practise. Half my shots still do nowhere near what I expect even after using the same few weapons over and over.

You could try turning the game speed down a little bit? Might help you take more time to aim and see how the shots are falling. Are you using the default control scheme?

I feel like goons are completely unable to comprehend what a Brigador anime would be like, probably something like this;

We open with a team of Loyalists, who are on no uncertain terms stated to be some of the only non-corrupt ones in Solo Nobre. They fight off a horde of Corvids to defend a hospital in a suburban neighborhood. There's a lot of cutting to their faces and their teamwork as they drive the Corvids off. Then they have to deal with a Spacer unit, one with only starndard types of weapons. They lose a member or two to this Spacer, but manage to take it down. They stand with pride, having, halfway into the first episode, defended this hospital from certain destruction.

Then the entire thing explodes, along with half the remaining team as an AKP goes off. Blood and body parts go flying, with the captain staring at the body part of a child that landed right in front of their sensors. They start to swear revenge before the survivors are carpeted with Plowman rounds, and we get to see with horrifying clarity what that poo poo does to a human body.

Cut to the Praetor that fired the shots, walking off like it was nothing. In the cockpit (insert low rank Brigador here) is interrupted from their blaring rock music by a computerized voice telling them to find their exit. They ignore that, pointing out how they still have to take out a bunch of garrison units and anti-orbital guns. The rest of the episode follows them as they callously crush civilians and walk through houses before they get to the spaceport and off planet. The Brigador gets payed, laments the low paycheck and offers to go back down for another run. Cue credits.

Other episodes would feature other Brigadors with their own setups and units, showing their own runs, whether they fail or win. The final episode features a Spacer skeleton named Buff by others who proceeds to clown everything that gets in their way, optionally giggling as things explode all around them.

The mechs are very VOTOMS except minus the robot roller skates, and there's nothing in the lore about any of the characters having giant asses. The VOTOMS dub really should have just replaced the theme music with Baby Got Back.
