GnarlyCharlie4u posted:this is amazing and anyone who doesn't believe in the zombieapocalypse can gently caress right off. The chintzy early '90s plastic and fiberglass that a 9400i is mostly comprised of would not withstand much post-apocalyptic duty. Or hell, a whole lot of occasional camping duty. Also when a highway truck goes into RV duty it means it's too hosed to be profitable as a truck.

I'm not at all impressed with direction this vehicle has taken, it is, in fact, NOT the Flintstones car.

For what that is, it's in amazing shape. I don't think you'd be able to find the parts to fix the AC though. Edit: Also, it's a pretty well done ad. Has pics of all sides, front and back seats, odometer and passenger dash. Mr-Spain fucked around with this message at 17:45 on Jun 1, 2017 |

How much of a pain in the rear end would it be to have an amc eagle as a daily driver? Because I want one more and more.

It's a mid-80s Jeep with an AMC Hornet (or in rare cases, a Gremlin) stuck on top. It will have a lovely electro-carb that likes to get it's venturi clogged and chances are if it's never been cleared the idle screw will be turned way rich to make up for the stumbling. Usually they have 258 i6s which is the father of the 4.0 that everyone loves. In short they are fine automobiles and the loving king of winter driving. I adored mine when it carried me through a winter in Madison.

Amazing thing is we look at some of these cars like the Eagle and think what the hell...but back then when you were a kid you were like "holy poo poo, this is a 4x4 and can go anywhere." Suburu Brat also comes to mind.

Yeah but it's not as cool to go 'ok so AMC didn't have any real money since the 60s so that's their major designs they used up into the 80s with minor tweaks' EDIT Once upon a time I lived in Wisconsin and owned two AMCs at the same time. Kenosha's finest. I'd love an Eagle again but now that I live in Florida where I escaped winters like that I have no need. Wish I still had the Hornet but it was good I sold it when I did. Make a taller 5th But that's just an old school sleeper. Those come out in about 20 minutes... generally less since they are not usually installed properly in the first place. slidebite fucked around with this message at 05:28 on Jun 6, 2017 |
