In the show doesn't he get Ice and melt it down for Jaime's sword and Widow's Wail?

That happened in the books too.

In the books the steel is not melted down because that would ruin it. And anyway swords aren't made by pourin molten steel into casts!

I remember in the show Jaime asking how he managed to have it reforged and Tywin saying they brought in the best smiths they could find in the whole world so at least they pay service to it being difficult

So since the ASOIAF wiki doesn't explicitly say how, if the steel wasn't melted, how did one sword get turned into two swords in the books?

The books just say he reworked them, I suppose the process involves heating the metal until it can be reshaped but not actually turning it liquid.

I think all the Valyrian Steel weapons that have been mentioned in the show will be in the north or headed north by the end of this season.

Here's to hoping that this show doesn't dive deeper into fanfic revengeporn territory.

I hope the new season begins with Daenerys falling to her death from the crow's nest of one of her ships, and tyrion throws up his hands and says "well, that's that. How about some wine?"

We still somehow need to get that one sword from the ToJ flashback too. I think that was valyrian steel at least the show didnt really make a big deal out of it tho.

According to the books it's made from a meteorite, not valyrian steel.

I think the fact that they included Dawn in the show was just a nod to bookreaders and not something they're going to focus on later. And like someone else said, whatever its significance is going to be the books, it's not Valyrian steel.

Yeah, I think that was just an Easter egg. Like House Hornwood being in the anti-Ramsay alliance.

Valerian steel's properties are different than traditional steel alloy, so the tempering/folding process may not be needed, being magical fat man steel.

You can cast something in the shape of a sword sure but steel swords that were used in combat weren't actually made like that, it's a good option for replicas but this sort of poo poo will happen if you actually try to use it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_N4hprpRJhM

Edit: as I am not actually a sword expert I'd say that the situation might be different with modern industrial steel and manufacturing techniques but in ye olde days you'd forge a sword by beating it into shape.

Cersie just materializing new Lannister armies out of nothing and destroying the much larger Martell and Tyrell armies (which haven't been touched in the war) is just so beyond stupid. But that's what the script says must happen so drat any reasoning.

There were some leaked set photos of Randyll Tarly (Sam's evil father) and Jaime riding together. Considering that he is supposed to be among the most powerful bannermen of House Tyrrell, this could mean that a large part of the forces of the Reach has revolted against Olenna and allied with Cersei.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, HBO programming chief Casey Bloys hinted that the eighth season (only six episodes long) might not air until 2019.

...The interviewer then asked, more explicitly, “So as of now, the final season could air in 2018 and / or in 2019 depending on their needs?” To which Bloys responded, “Yeah. They have to write the episodes and figure out the production schedule. We’ll have a better sense of that once they get further into the writing.”
