AI was a little hesitant about Always Be Catapultin' but it did better than any other lance combo I've gone up against, right up until they stopped their Locust halfway through a flank and let me crunch it to death (literally - DFA wrecked the CT) and the Catapult wasn't firing every turn. I don't remember but how heat-neutral is a Catapult firing only LRMs? Maybe it was cooling but it felt like it fired 2-3 turns and then waited 2-3 turns and that wasn't right. Still, probably the best lance for the AI I've played yet.

Found the goon pilot while playing with the debug cam (CRTL+SHIFT+i) and I'm glad friendly fire is off. The Centurion made up for it by headcapping the Atlas in the next round. It's finally my turn to deliver AC/10s to the face.

In most mechwarrior games they're a stepping stone to heavies that you pass through as quickly as is convenient, and I remember trying to get away from them pretty quick in the mechcommander games too. But here the roster is really solid, with the Centurians, Hunchbacks, Kintaro, and Trebuchet being real outstanding units for the price/weight. Just park a Hunch 4P in a river and enjoy the light show.

Considering how quality the AC/10 is in this game I could really see some good medium skirmisher builds centered around them

As for good medium skirmisher builds centered around the AC/10, the Centurion is exactly that straight out of the box.

Fair enough. I just recall slapping on FF plates in MekHQ around that time period, and thought that they were available. When it comes to the endo mechs, you can still repair structural damage, but god help you if you lose a limb.

Much like the entire conceit of lostech, it's really just more problems all the way down if you start asking questions.

I vaguely recall that being a thing in the original Mechwarrior. There was a mech, maybe the Marauder, that had lostech armor and whenever it got repaired it would lose a bit of max armor value as the good 'ole Star League poo poo got replaced with the janky 3025 stuff.

So we had an idea in the goon BT discord: Take a Hunchback 4P - The one with lasers. Replace all mediums with smalls and max armor with remaining 4 tons. Use mech to punch and then unleash 9 SML every round as you are heat neutral. PUNCHBACK

Why would that possibly work like that? Kind of defeats the purpose of having hardpoints?

Yeah, in all likelihood the patch adding multiplayer is the only patch we'll see during Beta. Maybe they'll adjust some stuff in that patch, for the purposes of feedback, but based on what they've said I wouldn't expect too much.
