Has a limited energy meter though. Looks fine, like a less annoying X-Ray vision and replaces those Map stations some of the games have. The melee counter thing seems kinda lazy but the rest of the game looks pretty good.

Yeah it looks like they're giving you a lot of new tools to play with but putting an energy limit on them. They're showing off quite a bit of this actually. I can't believe they're letting you actually annotate the map finally.

Well gee, I can't believe that a Konami funded, cash grab portable interquel tie in to a man game would not have the same kind of budget, care and attention to mechanics as a Nintendo overseen 2D Metroid game remake.
