How consistently lovely are you that people can just guess it was you that said something hosed up? Also Trevor Noah is decent on TDS and I really enjoy a lot of his segments but Jon Lebowitz was definitely the Michael Jordan of that show type. Though it did take him several years to really hit his stride.

They're pretty much hardmode defendants though. They almost all have clean records, have previous experience testifying in court, and it's 50/50 on whether any given person is generically sympathetic to them. Add that the only recording of the events leading up to the shooting was the cruiser dash cam, and there was a lot of space there for a competent lawyer to create reasonable doubt.

They also played the "He had THC in his system so was acting erratically!" card. The cop's defense was basically that he was scared. I don't understand how "I'm afraid of black people so acted irrationally' continues to be a valid defense.

I think racism in the US is shown properly with the Oklahoma frat situation. Bunch of frat bros were singing a racist chant that included the n-word a bunch (and maybe even referenced hanging black people but i don't remember 100%) and a black Oklahoma football player lost his poo poo went off about it on a Snapchat. You know, how you would probably expect ANY black person to feel. First person to apologize for the whole thing? I'm kinda torn if that's a vast conspiracy with a stated goal being worked toward or just that personality wanting to do what it enjoys.
