I tried maining Potemkin in GG way back when I first played it with friends casually because I usually go for grapplers/heavyweight fighters but Pot was just too hard to use so now I just use the ryu/ken equivalent in the fighters I play and it suits me.

As a lifelong keyboard player I don't really advise it. Hitbox, sure, absolutely, develop that muscle memory instead. Keyboards are great if you're sitting at your computer -- it's not a question of not being able to do inputs or anything like that -- but holding one on your lap or carting a little foldout desk around any time you want to play in person sucks.

If you don't mind doing a bit of DIY you can get something cheaper.
