I watch these pre-COT races and it makes me kinda bummed that they hosed up everything you know? Also this is my weird personal favorite 500 for some reason . "It's harder to win the Daytona 500 than it is to win the Nextel Cup"- Dale Jr. I remember thinking at the time when NASCAR began to roll out and make the "chase" the most important thing in the sport that it was going to be a huge mistake... To be fair, lots of bad drivers have lucked into winning Daytona. Ward Burton, Derrike Cope, Sterling Marlin, Mario Andretti, etc. Only one bad driver has lucked into winning a Nextel Cup Championship.
