Looking at this for BATTLE SLAYERS. Mandatory colour is going on the gun casing/tacticool pouches. Problem is that there is no way in hell I can freehand an eagle for the shoulder pad, anyone got a link to a shoulder pad that looks like this:

Do they have to carve the chapter name into their arm?

They're an Imperial Fists successor from the Ultima Founding, specialising in urban pacification, close-quarter combat, and boarding actions.

No leadbelcher was a pretty rough roll for a ban, so I used the required screaming bell as the base for all the metal, and the other requirement (double hard-mode) was screamer pink which is on the shotgun casing, eyes, and chapter badge. He came out much more steampunk-y than I had envisioned but I like him all the same.

Following up that slick loving white with my combined painting and photography (lack of) skill is rough, but here is Brother Riverhorse of the Iron Hippos:

That ghastly freehanded hippo was a last minute addition I'm secretly pleased with. I managed not to use any Kantor Blue or whatever the gently caress other colour (I'll be honest, I don't even own the thing I got on the hard mode roll) but did incorporate Khorne Red in the shoulders and bolter.

CUPOLA MY BALLS
Hey, going to be at the store thursday for the konor thing, so going to pick up my chadmarine and paint then.

What wash should I use on fenrisian grey/p3 frostbite? Not sure yet which I'll use but they're similar. Same for the lightning bolt blue, never painted a bright blue before.

The GW canon would have you use Nuln Oil and Drakenhof Nightshade, but nothing's stopping you from getting creative. I washed my Kantor Blue with Druchii Violet and that gave it an interesting contrast with the blue base and green/teal highlights. Agrax would give the grey a dirtier look, and a wash of purple or green would deepen the shadows more on the blue parts. (Probably test the color combos on a burner mini, assuming you care what the final result looks like!)

Let's see how utterly horrible this is for the STORM JAGUARS. I'm thinking of doing a jaguar rosette pattern on the dark brown/gold bits, and probably do a teal lightning bolt on one of the shoulder pads.

The SNARLING GUARDIANS!

There's lots I could improve about it, obviously - the face is bodged, the steel could use a brighter highlighting pass (my bottle of silver dried up recently), and there are a slew of issues surrounding my use of some very old decals I had lying around, but the scheme itself is pretty solid, I think.

There he is!
Brawling Company

A successor chapter of the Raven Guard, the Brawling Company are noted for their willingness to throw themselves into what seem to be hopeless situations and emerge victorious through a mixture of grit, determination and dirty tricks. More than one great enemy champion has been taunted into single combat by a Brawler, only to be ambushed by an entire gang of Reivers. They will use autoguns, lasguns, xenos weaponry - there are no rules, there is only victory or defeat. The only weaponry they refuse to use are the tools of Chaos, which in the words of the Chapter Master, "'Would make things too easy."

The Brawling Company are most noted for their mastery of unarmed combat and improvised weaponry. Especially in the Dark Imperium era, where the light of the Astronomicon can be intermittent, the Brawlers are well prepared for lightning strikes to turn into grueling wars of attrition from lack of supplies and reinforcements. Their signature weapon is the Power Knuckles, a lighter variant of the power fist.

You can kind of see it here - I actually carved little furrows above the ears and painted them black to into the eyes, trying to go for a sunglasses look. It didn't quite read like that, but it still seems to have worked out ok.

Paints Used: Primarily Vallejo Cold Grey washed with Drakenhof Nightshade at the recommendation of a friend (thanks Tim), with Jokaero Orange washed with Sepia Serephim. The belt is some off-brand 14-karat gold color, the Power Knuckles and arm pistons are the same off-brand Brass. The kit bags are Vallejo Golden Yellow washed in Sepia Serephim as well.

The legs and abdomen are from the original Reiver model. The chest/upper torso is from a Stormcast... Prosecuter? The left arm with the sword is from the Reiver Kit, and the right arm is from a Chaos Terminator kit, with the original twin-linked bolter removed and replaced with a greenstuff Brass Knuckle. The lower back is sculpted greenstuff, as is the connection from the right arm to the torso.
