So the standard only comes with what it says it comes with. The deluxe comes with 8 rare (blue), the limited comes with 2 legendary (yellow), the ultimate (which you don't see) comes with all available legendary heroes offered in limited.

explosivo posted:Standard package is perfectly fine. There are upgrade options available in-game for the difference (so, $20 to upgrade from the Standard to Deluxe edition) if you end up liking the game. I picked up standard and am having a blast so will probably upgrade to Deluxe on payday this week. I'm curious, if I buy a free gift pack off of someone else, can I upgrade that gifted pack? Would at least save me some money if I want a higher pack. If anyone wants to sell a key for $20 I might be interested, I see $15-20 is the current price on epicnpc and other third party sites, but I'd rather have someone more trustworthy. So is this game free? I keep seeing people mention F2P but it looks like it at least costs $40 to start.

$40+ to join the early release, with F2P happening in January. I bought Deluxe and kind of wish I'd just gotten the standard - Deluxe gives you "more stuff" but not enough that it's really a game changer or anything.

Something that I personally would have wanted to know sooner that isn't actually spelled out anywhere (played a few days on standard before upgrading) is that if you buy one of the packs that includes heroes, you're able to play those hero classes immediately - without having to unlock them on the skill tree. Rather, it looks like they're passively "unlocked" in the background when you buy said pack, but you can still drop points in them on the skill tree to progress past them. May save you some time if you want to start off as an outlander for maxloot.

So what is the purpose of survivors? Just making sets to get bonuses? Also isnthe only way to craft guns and look at your backpack is being in a round and not anywhere in the pre game menu?

Dr. VooDoo posted:So what is the purpose of survivors? Just making sets to get bonuses? According to the tooltip, each F.O.R.T. point is a straight % increase in health, weapon damage, shields, or trap/ability damage (respectively), so they seem like they're no joke. Well I am quite pleased with this. Provided that you can get the pathing sorted out, Orcs Must Die level kill boxes are totally achievable. Got the horde to all turn this one corner filled with wall darts, electric zappers and floor spikes. With some minor supplemental shooting (save for a smasher which needed to be put down), everything died on that one corner. Floor spikes are the tar pits of this game, the husks are slowed to a crawl if they have to walk on spikes. This allows everything else the time to rearm and fire efficiently. If you absolutely know where they are going, you can supplement this with low walls in their way fitted with wall spikes and other low wall traps. Shame that traps have "ammo" associated with them. Eventually you will have to replace a trap that runs dry. If you wanna be a trap specialist, it is completely viable. It might be possible to solo missions, though you are going to have to put down a lot of resources to do that. I hope through the later levels that trap recipes remain cheap.

Maybe add this to OP and FYI: You can change your FOV to be bigger based on your aspect ratio Open the Engine.ini file with Notepad At the bottom, add the following: [/script/engine.localplayer] AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV Location(akumos is my comp obv) Also mouse accel is on for some dumb reason and you can disable it in that same folder in gameusersettings, set it to bDisableMouseAcceleration=True Akumos fucked around with this message at 12:30 on Jul 26, 2017 |

Got this game yesterday in the end. Pretty interesting but really does suffer from too much menu stuff and honestly far too many abilities and cards and skills that dont really make much of a difference at all. All the games Ive played with people probably could have been done without even building anything and I dont think Ive actually lost health yet. I assume it gets more difficult but as of now its a bit of a slog but maybe a good podcast game to play and not pay a whole lot of attention to

Edit it does appear to be vertical, yes, setting "Y" to 78 gave me a glorious massive increase in visibility and made zoom-in weapons not awful. Side effect seems to be you can zoom out way more on the map and the party screen is much smaller too. Not a bad thing though. Wow! I just got a jackpot llama from the collection book. Do they always boost up to gold? Because uh... I got some nice stuff out of that. Now if only I could get a rifle defender that wasn't a level 1/1 grey. It's killing me. There's a quest to upgrade a defender but I literally can't. Anyway, this game rules. I love it. The daily XP bonus that you get? That seems to roll over indefinitely. I have 15,000+ banked since I only play 1-2 matches a day.

So, since we can make weapons for each other, I figure it may be useful to get an idea of the schematics out there for people interested in trading. I've put together a simple spreadsheet for now, anyone with the link can edit. Add schematics you think people might be interested in. This probably means Rare at the minimum, but filters are easy to apply, so if you are willing to make the item for someone, put it in. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RJPUX7u_oefkg5y-VY-yJ9ZHPDpMK8rnRJmukHv2tqg/edit?usp=sharing

@Twib: the right defenders (gunslingers/snipers, others burn too much ammo) are incredibly useful in solo matches, setting up a good kill funnel also does most of the work for you @Skan: added a few columns that seemed useful

Was looking to pick this up to play with some friends since we're kinda big on the whole horde mode/Nazi Zombies/Minecraft stuff and this seems to scratch that itch pretty well, is it worth picking up the higher up editions? I was thinking about getting the $150 one just for the two codes I could sell to friends and I'm kinda a sucker for cosmetic poo poo. Also, god drat that's THICC.

I've been keeping an eye on this since I've been interested in it, but I'm still fuzzy on how the base-building works. Do you make your own private base that you defend, then make new mini-bases when you're on a mission on other maps?

The game launches with you building your own permanent base that you occasionally go back to defend & upgrade and when you're on a mission the objective is usually defend x/y/z macguffin so you have to build a little fort around it.

The free premium currency dries up pretty hardcore after the start and you are left without an effective way to grind for new weapons/heroes/anything fun really. That and at the moment the game rewards players for being selfish and not working with the team which is not great for long term game survival.
