I think level 18 is the first one where I was like :yeah:, I'm glad I played that.

Moray kinda reminds me of that facing worlds map from Unreal. It's fun and better in this game but I'm glad none of the other maps are like it.

I'm assuming the snails are exactly the same as just scrubbing the item because if they instantly rerolled all 3 abilities and you kept the previous ones as chunks then snails would be useful past the first 5 or so.

Still, saves 20k.

No that's exactly how they work, I was just assuming they're going to add more clothes as time goes on so people would want to save their snails for adding slots since they're technically finite because they're only given out at splatfests and from levels 31-50

I have no idea what I am doing in almost any given situation.
Given I just bought this game since I had a Switch and why the hell not I'm amazed how good it is.

I think CoD et al made me forget that FPSs are actually supposed to be a funtime rather than a miserable death grind.

(Also I can't stop buying clothes. Dear god, why can't I stop?!)

Holey moley, there's a super devious corner jump in Sturgeon Shipyard that you could use to run the rainmaker to the goal even if the side gate is up.

Actually I came here to :spergin: that the side gate is down every minute from 12 sec to 56 sec.

So a snail for 3 ability chunks instantly? Thats not bad, I seem to remember getting a fair few snails per splatfest.

the last game gave you like 20~ snails if you reached the top tier of splatfest playtime so it's way more than enough if it's the same here

Moray Towers is hella fun in Rainmaker. If you can manage to squid up the sides or up the halfpipe when you're holding the thing, you can halve the countdown almost instantly. It's nuts.

It's the only mode I actually like to play that map in.

Also while I'm sure this is obvious to most of you, if you jump to the tree in Inkblot Art Acedemy you can easily make your way back to the opponent's spawn (excepting the final ledge) in turf war.

Bought this game at launch, I've been messing around in turf wars and having a lot of fun though I suck. Motion controls are still tough, these old creaky reflexes ain't what they used to be. Increasing sensitivity did help though.

Can I see if I have this right:

You buy a piece of gear that comes with an ability, and some random abilities that need to be unlocked.
After you unlock them all, you can have Murch pull the random abilities off the gear and they go in your inventory as ability chunks
Now the gear still has it's default ability but you need to unlock the random ones again
Eventually you save enough of the ability chunks that you can assign them to whatever gear you want

Is this correct?

Yeah. And it costs an absurd amount of money (20k per scrub).

Yup every brand has abilities it favors as well. This week's is Squidforce. It has a high chance to roll ink resistance which is very good. Scrub it after you get the first ability, it's faster that way.

My disdain for you all knows no bounds.
Rainmaker Moray Towers is fun yeah. I absolutely loathe the Splatzones version of it. Probably my least favorite map in the game. Yeah, let's have progress stop so easily when a team loses control of 25% of the required zones instead of 50%.

I noticed that people really don't like to grab the Rainmaker at higher ranks, even after the opening firefight at mid. It's only when the coast is clear, the enemy team is at an disadvantage, or a team is about to lose when that typically happens. Understandable, since people understand that taking the rainmaker makes you a sitting duck and a huge target (So many people love to do suicide rushes just to go after the Rainmaker holder), and you basically have to give up your chosen role to play escortee.

Something devious that people like to do is that if the time is about to run out, and their team has the advantage, the Rainmaker holder likes to just hide somewhere to secure their team the win. Just don't retreat too far back to your base to try that unless there are only a few seconds left, since that accelerates the countdown.

I remember this from the first game too. It’s one of those obvious in retrospect things. Rainmaker as a weapon is strictly worse than basically everything so here’s no advantage to picking it up if there’s any opposition anywhere nearby.

You have to get Murch to steal the shirt off a squid and he will ask which one do you want and keeps the another. He also swaps shirts if you got one from Flow but then saw one at Annie's shop.

Does that even work though? Whenever I buy from Murch I forgot exactly what I wanted him to get and then later he says "well it's not exactly what you wanted but it's pretty close". Does that just refer to the random sub abilities?
