Pro controller is good, you should get it if you really spend a lot of time docked or can handle motion better with both hands if you're me. Also ugh I might actually give money to a kick starter Oh wait I gave the Rifftrax guys money that was actually awesome

If those guys had a working website or another product that wasn't just a rebranded knockoff thumbstick attachment being sold on Amazon, that'd be a lot more impressive. Video game Kickstarters are where money goes to die.

The thing with the Pro Controller D-Pad is that nothing feels wrong with it, physically; it's perfectly comfortable and has the right amount of give. If you're grabbing your Pro Controller and going "feels right, guess I got a good one!" you've misunderstood the complaint. It's the functionality that's the problem, specifically the way that lateral movements register as directional inputs. You can be pressing down on one direction while unintentionally pushing the D-Pad laterally in another direction, and either input direction (or both) might register.

So, Ironcast. It’s not just a simple match three Bejeweled clone. Basically every turn you can make two matches of gems; each of the four types of gems can be used to power your mecha’s four systems: light weapon (damages enemy), heavy weapon (specifically targets one of the enemy’s system), movement, and shields/systems repairs. The more gems of a type you match, the more the systems are powered up. If you have enough of a resource, you can shoot enemies, move forward, and/or repair your mecha. The enemy then gets a turn. This repeats until you’ve completed a level. It’s obviously a PC port. Don’t get me wrong, it’s certainly playable with a controller, but the UI is very mouse-focused, with a cursor being used for the main menu, and controller buttons being bound to various click areas on the screen. Also, the UI elements and text are on the smaller side, probably readable enough in portable mode but I found myself squinting a bit at my TV to read, which I don’t generally have to do in games. I only played through the tutorial, so I only have a basic impression of the game, but I figured I would pop in and give some notes. To be honest, I was kind of hoping for a simple Bejeweled style game (it can be fun to sit back, relax, and match some gems) but this is completely different beast. In fact it’s kind of hard to describe it as a matching game—it’s really closer to FTL in that it’s essentially ship management, with less emphasis on quick decisions and more on strategic choices. So if you’re hoping for FTL on the Switch, Ironcast might be worth a look. asecondduck fucked around with this message at 04:26 on Aug 12, 2017 |

That Switch pad case thingy looks nice, though I get the idea the best case result is a fidget spinner situation where the developers drag their feet while some Chinese manufacturers make a barely legally distinct knockoff and get it on the shelves within months and eat their lunch.

I quit early cause i got frustrated with the ui. I was surpised how good invisible inc's console ui worked on ps4 though. They did a great job. Dunno if it could cone to switch though, the biggest levels like the campaign finale have unacceptable performance on ps4 with crazy stuttering.

It has a fairly decent mechanics tutorial, not great but better than most games. Last one had good netcode too so im hype to play.

When you think about it makes perfect sense Ganon was able to take over. He sent flying ghosts to take the Beasts. they could just zip around and hit all the terminals while the champions were standing there going, "OK so I need to rotate the middle piece clockwise so I can jump onto the back piece as it rotates counterclockwise..."

My two cents Re: pro controller chat The d pad is bad. It makes Tetris bad. Most games don't really need that level of d pad precision if they use it at all. The pro controller is amazingly good for any game that doesn't need Tetris-like d pad precision. I'm glad I bought mine. It has made Zelda and Splatoon a joy to play.
