Lena Dunham is confirmed for only one episode so the chances of sudden death are high. We don't seem to have a count for Roberts yet.

Well Roberts did punch her boyfriend Evan Peters on more than one occasion as I recall. And she usually is typecast as some kind of uppity exaggerated WASP. But I agree she was very good in Scream Queens. In fact, given the choice between SQ season 3 or AHS: Cult, I would probably picked SQ.

I wish one of them would just hurry the gently caress up and give us CAMP like I've been asking for since 2015

Denis O'Hare is going to be back this season at least, right?

I've tried googling who all is in the cast this season, but most of the articles that popped up were like 'Lena Dunham to appear!' I know the OP has a list, but I'm curious how many others are returning; since that list also seems to be low on 'Ryan Murphy's stable of hunky brunettes'.

I just finished watching Roanoke. I'm not even sure how I didn't know that season come out.

In a way it's the best and most coherent story. The framing device has some interesting things with it and some really dumb ones. Things like the Chen ghosts are hilariously bad and out of place.

After episode 5 it's like... What?

Sarah Paulson is the worst part of any season. Gaga being given a low bar to jump over that she clears by a mile and characters that play to her strengths as an entertainer is pretty great. Best part of the hotel season. I live in New Orleans and have my whole life, and Coven is terrible by every metric.

I'm going to watch Roanoke once it hits Netflix so for now I'm going back through Hotel. I maintain that the season would have been perfect if they'd ended on the Hotline Bling scene. Just cut to black and delete all the remaining episodes, it's peak 2015.

My account put me at Coven first since I'd just finished Asylum (still the best) and just the first episode was booooring. The fashion is great though. I wanna be a bitchy witch clad in all black sitting around pouring whiskies and smoking cigarettes in my all-white NOLA mansion

I kind of liked it because of the implication that the various cultures do indeed have their own paranormal poo poo in the AHS universe.

Everyone cries when they're stabbed. There's no shame in that.
I wanna be generous and say that maybe there's a Taiwanese ghost tradition that's just superficially similar to the Japanese Onryo thing and they played it up for the reenactment portion, but who am I kidding they were just lazy.

This is my favorite part of the last season. When Ryan Murphy starts doing a love story for the last half of a few seasons, a love sick jazz saxophone playing ghost, aliens, ghost exgirlfriend, stupid witch hunters, mutant raising, gay lobster dad sub plots the other seasons are such a mess.

Also, in poking around other forums and comment sections on AHS articles, I've noticed that there seem to be two camps of people who watch the show: Those that liked seasons 1 and 2 and thought 6 was kind of a return to form, and those that liked 3-5 but didn't like 6, usually because of the format.

I don't know, it sounded more interesting when I thought it up.

Freak Show was an exercise in how far a show could crawl up its own rear end.

I'm a little over halfway done with my Hotel rewatch. I'd forgotten all the confusing bullshit with Wren and what an irredeemable character Alex is. But it did give me my favorite line of the entire series:

Yeah I think that's a good observation. I definitely fall into the first camp. I'll still watch this cheesy-as-gently caress ridiculous show no matter what though. Even if it's as bad as Hotel.

I'll go on record as saying that every season is entertaining, it's just some are entertaining the same way watching a celebrity be shallow and a total trainwreck is.

Coven is a total dumpster fire in terms of motivation, logic, pacing, and character likeability. But it's not like we don't remember the BEEEEEEEEEEEEEES fondly as a moment so goofy we bring it up whenever we can rather than suppress it.

Yeah she definitely had a nice Bawbwawa Waltews impression going. Evan Peters had one too but it was a lot more subtle

Of course it could be one of those situations where, like you, I'm just used to hearing the stereotypical impression. After living in the south for most my life, I can easily spot a real southern accent vs. a fake one. Very few people get it right. That being said, I've absolutely met some real life people who sounded exactly like Cricket

I mean, one woefully underutilized accent is Buffalo (flat vowels, tending to drop the unstressed middle syllable in a word).

Then again American Horror Story: Buffalo would probably just be rolling footage from any Buffalo Bills season since 1990.
