they've really hosed this whole season pass and dlc affair up, but also is it weird to anyone else how fun a horde mode dlc for re7 is considering how boring it got fighting the mold monsters in the actual game? i mean the combat in the game wasn't really interesting in any meaningful capacity but that horde mode is really fun. i do not get it.

It's pretty bittersweet that it's really enjoyable, but only one level. I had a lot of fun playing nightmare, but the lack of anything to do after you beat it an an hour or 2 left a sour taste in my mouth.

Yeah I guess there is stuff to unlock...but I already beat it on the hardest difficulty, so why should I give a poo poo?

I think what RE7's horde modes needed was co-op or multiplayer of some kind. Like Nightmare was already pretty fun, and would have been more fun if I had a buddy and also a way for that buddy to shoot at some Mold blobs with me.

Amending that to "don't buy season passes until all the content for them is released" because then they just function as a discount on all the DLC.

I've never bought one until all the DLC was out. I think Fromsoft is the only dev I actually trust enough to buy a pass and even then I'll just wait. it's not like they are going to run out of them.

People who bought the Uncharted 4 season pass sort of scored though. Can't really think of any other examples where it was a good idea.

on the other hand buying the fallout 4 season pass just committed you to picking up the tab on their triumphant return to sell you paid mods, so that's kind of a wash.

edit: they actually were kind of double fuckers because they jacked up the price so that people believed more story dlc was coming, but instead surprised! paid mods!

Given Monster Hunter's penchant for DLC costumes and no longer being tied to Nintendo you might actually get that.

I believe Emmanuelle is shit, though Emmanuelle 2, Emmanuelle '77 and Goodbye, Emmanuelle may be very good movies.
not a hero was always going to be free, it was meant to be included in the game at release and the other story based dlc that was part of the season pass was always said to come out much later in 2017, which i always assumed as an october one, and is meant to be more like beginning hour worked on by a P.T dev and as far as we know, it's still getting worked on.

the only thing they hosed up on was trusting not a hero to outsources and since that leak of its plot/locations suggested it would be kinda lovely (tho having steroids as the only health item for chris is hilarious) they probably looked at the reception the main game got and figured they could do better than what the outsources did, they probably didn't think it would take this long.

i bet we get not a hero and 2nd story dlc around the same time nearer october as a double pack like the vhs tapes. didnt we have to wait a similar amount of time for the re5 dlc or something if i recall? at least it felt that way.

I've been playing Re2 a lot lately and I've been thinking about what they'll most probably retcon, things like the helicopter crashing on the mario lookalike or the entire scene with bens cell and the vanishing gigantic monster.

I guess bens cell area could easily be redesigned but the helicopter crash is so dumb lol, that he managed to shoot the helicopter pilot and leon/Claire just stood there and didn't do poo poo.

I hope RE2make adds a copilot to that helicopter that also gets shot and killed by stray gunfire.

If it's just minor retcons, then I hope they add in some touches in the police station to make it look like Nemesis had been there and trashed the place. That, and maybe also expand the size of the STARS office and the prison area.

Though I hope they keep in the silly bit where Claire calls Leon to tell him she and Sherry found a way out of the police station but neglect to mention where said exit is.

Yeah that would be cool, the only resi games I've ever played were 2 and 4 but this remake has got me excited,if all they do is a carbon copy remake with better graphics then i'll be happy but if they really put effort into it then it could be amazing.

I hope they keep the brad Vickers thing in,i always love little things like that in games.

I kind of hope they just use the expansion technology to expand RE2 in meaningful ways. Which is to say, let's not spend the whole game in the police station now. Have it remain the start and first third, but then let me have a more exploratory experience, let's run around Raccoon City and have some horrorshow adventures in the city proper.

This really makes me wish that Capcom would consider remaking Outbreak from the ground up using current technology. It had nice callback scenarios like the RPD zombie siege or the hospital in RE3, but it also had amazing new scenarios like the zoo and plant hospital. Even splitting up to explore was tense since you don't know if the people you're stuck with are going to get anything done or if they got themselves killed somewhere.

I think expanding RE2 too much outside of RE2 could lead to some bad things. That's not to say they shouldn't add stuff like in REmake but keep it in the same vicinity as the game. There's a lot of things REmake could have done but taking they took what RE1 already did and made it better and that seems like the best idea. They could certainly expand the run into the precinct from the streets a bit, especially in Route B (assuming the RE2 remake even has A/B) but I'm not sure I'd want to spend a lot of game time outside. Maybe make the Factory more than the gondola, 2 hallways, a safe room, the vertical train platform, and the mechanical room.

Me, while I realise it's kind of just an excuse to get more mileage out of the game I liked seeing the differences between the routes and stuff.

First time I played the game though I did Claire A followed by Leon A without realising that B was the actual finish to the story. :downs:

I think the REmake thing of expanding a minor plot point (The misfortunes of George Trevor) into additional gameplay was a good choice. It mixed things up plot wise just enough to not be a complete rehash, while keeping the main plot points intact. I'm a bit conflicted on making The Redemption of Barry Burton a more explicit choice, but I can understand why they did that.

For RE2make, I do hope they keep the A and B scenario, seems like a pity to just get rid of them. In terms of plot points to expand on, there's obviously Claire's search for her brother, which could justify her leaving the police station to check out her brother's apartment. Similarly, Leon could go out on a quest to find the perfect engagement ring.

I can't see that happening just due to financial reasons, but I could see them doing something new like having both Leon and Claire's storylines happening concurrently and give the player the ability to switch between them on the fly like in RE 0.
