Its never cheaper to do it with only one slot filled but it saves a ton of time. Its a question of how much cash you have to spare really.

2 is recommended since you don't have to spend as much money and it doesn't take as long as getting 3 slots. But if you have a lot of cash, scrubbing after 1 slot is the best way to farm for chunks.

I've been scrubbing at 2, seems like the best balance to me. 2000 coins (or whatever the currency is called) seems of little consequence, though -- that's what, two Turf War matches?

First and second slot scrubbing is hardly a matter of expense, its the time of leaving your lobby to scrub constantly. Bigger investment than 1000 per chunk cost change.

What's the best min/maxing routine? I've been just scrubbing my 3 slot gear for 20k/each; I haven't been paying super close attention to the meta (dirty Aerospray/dual stick player here).

Splatfest Tee only costs 2k to scrub so scrub it constantly after it gets it's 1st or 2nd abilities depending on how annoying it is to leave the lobby for you

A minor gripe but I really wish you could choose between a splatfest hat / shirt / boots. I know it is just for a week and not mandatory, I'm just too used to having that chest spot main ability.

Eh. I'll grant you that it's better than the previous rotation. The zapper and the splattling are fine, inkbrush can at least make a quick path across grating and through ink, but it and the nozzlenoze are still pretty drat horrible for salmon run.

Nozzlenose seems fine if you ask me (aside from having to pull the trigger constantly). The semi-auto makes it hard to use in regular multiplayer, since you have to be a lot more accurate than with most other guns, but in salmon run the enemies are a lot slower, larger, and more predictable, so it's easy to land all your shots. Aside from that it has good range, accuracy, and damage for a shooter.

This set is really good. N-zap isn't great and I'm still not sure how good the nozzlenoses are, but the splatling gun and ink brush are two of the best Salmon Run weapons. Having them in one set is great.
