I'm revising my stance on aircraft smuggling, its not worth doing. While most of the missions are fun, the ones that suck REALLY suck, it takes way too long to acquire 50 crates of one type even with four people, and the max payout is only $800,000. Which puts it way behind all the other business, even though you have to put way more effort into it.

I hope the current payout is a mistake, because at the moment you're better off doing old crate runs rather than smuggling.

I just did enough aircraft smuggling to unlock the cheaper options for the planes. I'm back to import/export for money making.

Payment being too low is pretty much right up Rockstar's alley. Make some neat stuff for the game but make the grind for money so bad that they hope you resort to Shark cards.

Nokota doesn't get bombs, and the Rogue is only 1.2 mil, probably 2mil after upgrades.

Tula is fun, but not sure if it's worth the cash if someone is penny pinching. Fun air party-bus, but other than that kind of meh.

At first I was a little salty about all this poo poo having a high in game cash barrier for entry, but then I thought about it, and honestly with the amount of stuff they've added, they probably could have charged another 30-60 dollars in DLC. Instead a few whales spend a ton and we all get relatively free stuff.

I mean, I've had an insane amount of fun with the stunt races and those have zero barrier to entry and zero upfront cost, so win win.

Normally I'd agree, but as a method to make in-game money, it's completely inferior to what everything else in the game has to offer, to the point that it's not really worth doing over other options.

Really though, it took until I/E until there was something that made as much as the heists. That's March 10th, 2015 to December 13th, 2016 without an increase in wages. Then with I/E an only minor increase.

Wage stagnation in the face of out of control inflation. even the basic rear end escort they added with this update is $615,000. nearly as much as the most expensive vehicles at launch. It's 2-3 hours work to afford a basic coupe.

I'm extremely surprised they haven't introduced loot crates.

Imagine how much money they could make then!

Priority for joining sessions goes something like:

Attempts to connect to friends online
If no friends online attempts to connect to online crew members
If all else fails, random session.

At least that's what I've heard.

I think that's more a consequence of all the developers who made the first iteration of that- the CEO office- moving on to other games. RDR2 and maybe GTA 6. The skeleton crew maintaining GTAO can only copy and paste it to new businesses.

Anything really new or innovative in this game came from the people who made it and it's run by the C-team now.

I bought an Import/Export garage for the first time yesterday and sourcing cars has been lots of fun. The X80 Proto was impressive, and if this link is anything to go by http://www.pcgamer.com/the-fastest-cars-in-gta-online/ I might just purchase it when I have the money. Assuming you mean me, yeah that was just me hanging with some random dude I met helping him out with his missions. Usually I just go into lobbies and ask anybody if they want help. It's not very profitable but there IS income and the missions themselves are fun. Anyone that doesn't outright suck goes on the friends list, and then eventually you'll always end up in a lobby with someone to play with.

One day I hope to do the heists but ehhhh... I don't really want to get on a Discord or anything. I play games to get away from talking to strangers, so...

I've been doing it for about a week now and managed to crank out enough dough to to buy the fruity CargoBob, Buzzard and the Weaponized Tampa. :rip: x2 cash.

The sourcing missions are starting to wear thin, especially using the cargobob. I'll think I'll eat the 5/10K debt having my car shot to poo poo by the uber-npc's and do a headhunter mission every few runs to get red of the "debt" if it bothers me.

Pro tip: if you don't have a cargobob for Import export, get in the target car then drive about 50 feet and wait for enemies to appear. get out of the car and plant yourself away from it. kill the enemy npcs, get in the car and do the same thing again. There are usually 4 waves, after that you're pretty much home free.

When you're delivering the car it's pretty inconsequential, but when you're sourcing it and there are choppers on you it's a pain in the rear end. If you get out you will be eating 3 round bursts to the face constantly. I feel it's better to just gun it and take the potential couple grand in speed hole and fender bender repairs that to fight it out. Even if I'm flying the bob, they get some shots in which seem to do a grand+ in damage.

lol at the cargobob sourcing mission. I did it ONE time with $0 damage. Since sourcing is free, you can always Buzaard over to the spot where you pick up their cargobob and blow that up to end the mission, then fly back and start another source immediately

If you're on a boat? not really. if you're using a rifle, you can knock out the tail rotor or pilot pretty easily, so it's not like you need to shoot it 100x. If you're talking about the cargo recovery from the ocean, if you steal/own a buzzard you can blow up the boats, then carefully hover close enough to pick up crates in the water and if enemy buzzards spawn in you can either shoot back with missiles or just take off.

Playing in public lobbies the last few days for the first time in a while is making me think the whole attitude towards playing has changed - I'm having my fun chasing cargos and bounties with a Buzzard or Hydra (sometimes unsuccessfully), or sniping people ad nauseum (I even sniped someone out of one of the new jets today) but it's like everybody just wants to be cool and grind for money. I kill people indiscriminately and they're like "really?" or "WTF is wrong with you" or "what did I do to you" but it's like nobody is playing the game to blow people up anymore. And that's sad.

Edit: My first experience with a yacht was when I swam up to someone else's, shotgunned them in the face (I think they were AFK?) and after they respawned I sliced them up with the rotors of their own helicopter. That was fun.

2nd Edit: VVVVVVV I'm on PC

If it's a non-attack helicopter (not a buzzard using its built-in guns), stand on the boat and shoot out the door gunners (you'll be able to auto-aim at them, if that's enabled). Then the helicopter will follow you, not firing, and no new ones will spawn because it is still alive.

If it's a buzzard - you're probably out of luck. AP pistol might take out the pilot, or (if you get it smoking) slow it down enough that you can get out of gun range.

Heavy sniper Mk.II with explosive rounds will take down all copters in two shots, but against AI it'll just spawn a new one.
