I bought this keyset https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07311XJJX for my QuickFire Rapid and it mostly works fine. I have run into one issue which is that the stems on the spacebar stabilizer don't fit snugly so if I hit the spacebar off-center it sometimes gets stuck.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I can do? Maybe sandwich something between the stems and the key to get a tighter fit?

That's a fairly common issue, I used some small strips of paper to make the inserts stay in the space bar.

Cut a small piece of scotch tape, enough to cover the + on the stabilizers. Should make for a pretty tight fit after you put the tape on top to wrap the stabilizer.

Let's get a little crazy. Let's have some fun.
I usually use something like cling film or some other thin plastic if stabilisers feel a bit loose. But the other suggestions are sound too.

Did this to my WASD V2 with Greens using these: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/top-printed-side-printed-dsa-pbt-keycap-caps-for-usb-wried-mechanical-keyboard-104-keys/32813738267.html (note if you're curious, it took like 8 weeks to arrive in Canada)

Feels loving WEIRD. Never had DSA profile before. They're much flatter than the caps I'm used to. It works much better when I extend the keyboard legs; used to have it lie flat otherwise.

i was looking at other stuff in that store, apart from the usual crazy slow ali delivery time, any other impressions wrt the seller? quality of comms and that kind of stuff

No impressions really ... didn't have any reason to interact with them. The Aliexpress tracking didn't work after the package got on the slow boat across the ocean. It arrived a week before I could have opened a dispute... but it arrived.

The keys themselves look and feel fine to me, besides the weird low profile. The PBT feels a bit thinner than the Tai-Hao Miami-style ones I just replaced, but in practice it doesn't seem to make any difference. I'm just having a bit of trouble typing as accurately as usual.

Actually even before I replaced my alpha-keys, I was replacing the modifiers while watching a baseball game. I noticed right away I was typing on the wrong keys just having lost the feel of tab/caps/shift on the left. I was sub-consciously finding the correct alphas based on where my pinky lay. Now that the keyboard is all DSA it all feels strange. That said, the F & J homing profile works great. The ridges are slightly closer together.

They're excellent, probably the best vendors I've dealt with for keyboard stuff. Communication is good and they've always responded to me when e-mailing the owner directly. I suggest to shop at their shopify store too as they sometimes have better prices on there. https://kbdfans.myshopify.com/

If you buy the big market items over $100 then they'll actually send it to you via Fedex/DHL for free and you'll get it within a week or so.

I had one of those, but the front wheel fell off and I had to get rid of it.
I assembled my first custom keyboard this weekend.
Phantom PCB/Plate, Kailh Gold switches, and a black aluminum case that didn't come close to fitting together until I cut and sanded a spare Mini-USB cable plug to size, because the back part of the case is almost flush with the top of the internal Mini-USB port.
This was my first time doing any actual soldering and it wasn't bad once I got the hang of it.
I eventually need to swap out the 100 ohm resistors for the Caps/Scroll Lock LEDs with something stronger because they're as bright as flashlights.

As far as I understand it, o-rings only dampen the impact when you bottom out. It's not going to reduce the click from the actuation point, but if most of your volume is coming from bottoming out then it will help reduce that. Softer o-rings probably control the impact volume more but also make everything feel mushier.

Ok thanks. It's mostly when I bottom the keys but of course the clicky is loud so I guess it can't be helped.
