Silth - Host/Blaylock - The Dark Crystal Chamber

Host/Blaylock stared up at the crystal for a moment. A curious thing. But good that he had free access; he might likely need it in the nebulous future.

Silth then looked inward, browsing the memories and knowledge of Blaylock in order to find what it needed...

Going to try re-attune? myself to the Dark Crystal using knowledge from The Gleaning [+2] and the Dark Inquisition [+2]. Or at least, figure out what needs to be done if it cannot be immediately (safely!) done here and now.

Hakon and Thralls - Hakon's Manor
FP: 11

Getting some sort of response from the Eye was... unexpected. Hakon wasn't sure what to make of it. All he had known about it was the stories of its properties, and this was the first time it had ever been more than just a magical tool. This was a subject that bore investigation. After, sending the Indoctrinator out to prepare another set of subjects for enthrallment, Hakon summons his Wizard. After inquiring if the wizard had any new artifacts or other magical tools to show him, Hakon orders him to attempt to investigate the Eye. Hakon will not part with it, but perhaps the Wizard can determine something about it with his new magics.

Hakon is sending out the Indoctrinator to prepare another batch of pre-thralls. Then summoning the Wizard, first checking if he has any new toys for Hakon and then having him try and investigate the Eye, with the proviso that Hakon will retain possession of it the whole time. Not sure if any domains really apply here since Hakon is mostly just sitting around seeing if the Wizard can tell him anything.

Isiah Incipio - Mysterious Valley, Wilds

Isiah Incipio looked down on the twisted forms of his scouts and then back up at the barely visible forms of the fog-shrouded remnant of his legion fortifying the position. "Well. gently caress." he said with sincere feeling. So sincere he said it again. "gently caress." In the fog, even if he could group everyone up, there was no guarantee he'd even be able to see them all, much less identify the shapeshifters.

"Wake up lazy bones. We have a spot of work ahead of us. And by we, I mean you, bone blade. I can't have shapeshifters infesting my command again. Raise up the shades of these fallen warriors and command them to guide me to their killers and their killer's kin. I have a mighty thirst for vengeance. A thirst great enough to slake even your thirst for blood."

Summoning the souls of the dead to identify their killers. If they can stick around to identify anyone related to their killers afterwards that'd be aces. The shapeshifters need to die forever.

Patak - The Wilds | FP 5| 2 upshifts Banked

The Warlord errant gave a most quizzical look at the tracks. “Heels?! In this terrain?!” Patak stared blankly for a moment before remarking to Horse: “Well, at least they should not be moving too fast.”

It seemed to Patak that these people were either harvested for their souls or someone very powerful held some grudge toward them. It was also obvious that this attack was without honor, given the lack of warning and therefore chance of surrender or offer of terms. It would be hard to justify such a massacre even for the most aggrieved party. Patak did not want to turn away from his quest to slay the Kursed but whatever could do this could not be allowed to continue. Not in his Wilds.

He led Horse by the reins as he held his Banner aloft. “Untimely dead, I swear to find your killer and exact Judgement upon them. By the Holy Sun’s Light I will find your killer and make them answer for their foul deed!”

He walked with the Banner radiating Holy Light. The tracks of his quarry would sparkle in the glow, or burn with holy fire should they be actually tained with metaphysical evil.

Well I guess this is the sort of thing I need to take care of. Swearing an Oath to the dead to find their Killer, avenge them, etc. Using Wildlands +2 for mundane tracking and War God’s Banner +2 To make the tracks easier to see to speed up my search/give a protective aura while I rush headlong toward a powerful adversary.

Riley - The Fortress of No Return

Riley checked the spot where the nightmare bit her. No wound appeared, but there lingered a phantom pain. She did not know what to say to the guard, so she just looked back at him. However long it took her to crawl into the nightmare world and back, Inquisitor Blaylock had not retrieved her. For now, Riley was not eager to get back to the street, so she waited quietly in bed, too anxious of drift back asleep.

Silth - Host/Blaylock - The Dark Crystal Chamber

Host/Blaylock's memory of his induction to the inner working of the church was a proud one. It was overseen by the dark cardinal himself. The lesser cardinals could also bind priests, paladins, zealots, and templars and attune them to the crystals energy. The speech was a particularly potent memory. ["I bind the to the glory of the dark. One purpose. One voice. One heart. One mind. Open yourselves to the never ending bounty and glory of its dark miracles. That the hand that guides the crystal be in your thoughts and know your very soul. Amen!]

A set of footsteps echoing from the opposite entrance of the chamber brought Host/Blaylock out of his memory.

The Indoctrinator bowed and left to do Hakon's will.

So summoned, the Wizard came before Hakon. A small wand in his hand. "My Lord, master, my everything and all. I have created a magical item that would help you defend your person." The black stick was made of wood, finely carved and lacquered in a dark bluish black finishing. "I call it 'Mindbane'. If you are threatened, merely point it at your assailant and will it to fire. When it strikes, it will temporarily freeze the mental processes of its target. They will be stuck, and stand as still as a statue."

Nothing happens. When Isiah looked at the bodies and they didn't rise...strange. Then one and then the other leapt to attack. "Kill their leader!" Patak - The Wilds | FP 5| 2 upshifts Banked

The tracks sparkled, after a day or so from following his quarry, Patak came upon a camp. The fire burning low. A single sleeping bag sat in front of a fire. A horse nearby whickering softly. A small clothesline had a few bits of female clothing attached, washed in a small nearby stream. It would seem, Patak's target had settled down for the night.

Hakon accepted the wand and smiled, obviously pleased at the Wizard's efforts, "You have done well, my wizard-slave." Seeing just how complete his control over his true-thralls was, how all-consuming their love for him was, never ceased to please Hakon. Before he had come here, he had always needed to watch his back, now he had a core of people who would burn down the world just to elicit the slightest smile from him, and he was constantly having them make demonstrations of their feelings. The fact that it obviously pleased him for them to do so would only serve to drive them to perform more and greater demonstrations of their love and devotion for their master.

Once the Wizard had fawned sufficiently for Hakon's satisfaction he had another order. "Next you will use your powers to study the Eye. I wish to know more about it."

Silth - Host/Blaylock - The Dark Crystal Chamber ---> Fortress of No Return

Host/Blaylock frowned. He then promptly left the chamber, and wondered how his plan would proceed without magic. A different avenue would need to be exploited.

He returned promptly to the Fortress, stalking back down the halls to his office, where he retrieved a second Glass Bottle, ink, and paper. He tucked them all into his coat, before leaving and re-locking his office and moving to where Riley was being held. He nodded to the guard, opening the door and clearing his throat.

"Riley," he said, gesturing to the table where the food sat. He took one side, sitting down and allowing the girl to take her seat when she felt like it. He pulled from his coat his pen, ink, and papers, laying them out neatly and inking the pen.

When she seemed ready, he began the interview/interrogation.

"Please state your name, for the record."

"How did you come to Slate-Iron City? What is your purpose here?"

"By what means did you alter the storm? Can you describe how your magic works? How was it taught to you? How do you cast it?"

"You mentioned a Fairy Godmother. Who is she? How do you contact her? Is she plotting against Slate-Iron City, the Church, or the Council?"

"Are you plotting against the city, the Church of Darkness, or the Council of Six?"

Regardless of what or how she answers, Host/Blaylock dutifully and accurately transcribes both his own questions and the responses she gives.

Eventually, he pulls out a pair of small Glass Bottles of the spell-holding variety. He places them on the table and uncorks both. "Please demonstrate your ability, if you can, by casting into each of these jars the same enchantment you used to change the storm." He gestures helpfully.

An interview.

Isiah Incipio - Mysterious Valley, Wilds

Lich's bane's failure shook Isiah Incipio. The bone blade had never failed him before. How else would it fail him in the future? So what if the shapeshifters were still alive. The blade should have ripped the souls from their still living bodies and forced them to serve him. This new distrust caused Isiah to sheath Lich's bane when facing danger for the first time since he'd acquired it. His fist and shield would be enough here.

Every trained fighter knows that a shield makes a handy bludgeon in a pinch. For a fighter as strong and experienced as Isiah, the black steel shield of the Black Legion was almost as handy as a mace and much harder to dodge. "Stay back!" he commanded his troops: "I don't want any of you getting close enough for them to escape by disguising themselves as one of you. I'll deal with these two myself."

Riley - The Fortress of No Return

Riley sat attentively before Inquisitor Blaylock, mindful of her posture in a way she wasn't accustomed to doing.
.
"Please state your name, for the record."

"Riley," Riley responded. She'd never given a name for a record before.

"How did you come to Slate-Iron City? What is your purpose here?"

"I didn't come here by choice," she answered truthfully. "I was teleported here, and I don't know how or by who, really. I want to go home to my friends. They're not near here- I think I was brought from another world."

"By what means did you alter the storm? Can you describe how your magic works? How was it taught to you? How do you cast it?"

"Um." Riley struggled to find words to describe her winter magic. She decided on a practical demonstration. "I don't know how to describe it, but it works like this." She rubbed her hands together like she did to generate the cold for the storm. She blew the coldness towards Inquisitor Blaylock. The force of it was many levels of magnitudes gentler than the snow storm, more like a sudden blast from a powerful air conditioner.

"You mentioned a Fairy Godmother. Who is she? How do you contact her? Is she plotting against Slate-Iron City, the Church, or the Council?"

"Um." Riley struggled again to find words. "I don't know much about her, except that I met her in a dream. I was pleading for help, and she came. That was... several days ago, I think. I haven't seen her in my dreams since. She didn't say anything about a plot. She said there were nice people here, but that I haven't been polite to them. She told me to mind my manners. She said she could help me if I asked nicely. When I woke up, I could make things cold."

"Are you plotting against the city, the Church of Darkness, or the Council of Six?"

"No," she answered honestly again. "I mean, this isn't the nicest city I've been in, I have to be honest. But I don't have any plans except to leave. I'm just a stranded, accidental traveler. I don't know about any church or council. But you've been square with me, so it can't be that bad." She ended with a shrug.

"Please demonstrate your ability, if you can, by casting into each of these jars the same enchantment you used to change the storm."

Riley nodded. This was what the Inquisitor wanted to see, after all. She tried something different with the two jars. The first one she picked up and kissed. The second one she just concentrated on freezing without touching or gesturing. When she was finished with the jars, she looked at the inquisitor with a plain face.

"I've tried to answer all your questions the best I can. Please answer just this one for me: am I going to be okay here?"

"I will pass my report up to my superiors with the note that you have fully cooperated thus far and that you are a child and therefore not likely a threat, whatever good that might do you. Returning to his office, he went inside and set everything on his desk. Sitting down, Host/Blaylock drew out fresh pieces of paper, and got to work. He would need to send up this report to the lab as soon as possible. He sealed one of the bottles with wax and pressed his ring to it, stamping his inquisitor's seal. This one was for the lab, to go with his report. The second bottle he tucked into his coat. That one was for his own purposes.

Dipping pen to ink, he began to write. With luck, this report would net him some useful attention from his superiors. Useful for Silth, that is.

Patak surveyed the camp site. It seemed normal enough, but there were various traps a mage might set that even a trained and keen eye could not see until they were sprung. Patak touched his Banner for a moment, considering the danger. All he really knew was that this individual had been to the massacre site. It could very well be that they had investigated as well, and then moved on. So he settled for a more balanced approach. Rather than waking them up with a weapon to the face he would prepare a meal for two over the fire. People like to talk over food. People feel safer and more secure on a full stomach.

He did get some slightly dented copper cookware for a fabulous price. It would be a shame not to make use of it. Patak threw a few coals from his pack on the fire and began roasting up some salted fish and mushrooms as well as putting together a pan bread Marie had shared the recipe and sold him supplies for. He wouldn't have minded brewing a coffee but no trader seemed to know what it was.

Emilio's minions leapt to attack, taking the opposing force by a slight surprise. In the chaos and mayhem Sally grabbed Emilio and ran. Her eyes saw each scry and attempt of the church forces to locate Emilio in the short term. Sally changed directions each time they got a bead on him. They ran and ran, the others loyally buying time for Emilio to escape. A day they made their escape and soon they topped a rise, below a medium sized hamlet. Torch light and a few glow globes illuminating the place.

Ksenija Ceranic - Blacktone - 6 FP

Ksenija came upon the room at the inn where Amy would have confronted the captain and lieutenant of the salamanders. The room was empty. The mattress was also missing.

The scout nodded. "I can show you the way. There's the four minor Gigants, multiple humanoids, dozens likely they keep moving around. Then the big man himself. They have guard posts around the camp and a few patrols." He drank some more water then Nikita and his group made their way over to the camp.

The camp was located on top of a hill. It would be very hard to approach without being seen, even with the natural state of darkness of the under-realms. The scout spoke. "We can get around the patrols if we go on the other side an wait for an opening."

Freda looked to you. "What say you?"

Isiah Incipio - Mysterious Valley, Wilds

The shapeshifters were not prepared for Isiah and the dead around him. The mist had obscured them from view. Undead hands beat and held the shapeshifters fast. Soon they were crying out their surrender.

Needless to say you must be secretive."

Riley - The Fortress of No Return

&

Silth - Host/Blaylock - The Fortress of No Return

-- Riley crawled back under the bed sheets. Riley peeref inside the dreams of her jailer, Inquisitor Blaylock. --

Host/Blaylock filed his report and the air was sent to the lab. As he sat in his chair, a faint prickling sensation. Something or some force was trying to read his host's mind. Oddly it would be the subconscious. For had they tried the conscious they would have gotten a nasty surprise. Encountering the alien mind of Silth directly would be treacherous for humanoids.
He closed his eyes and saw:

Riley appeared inside Host-Blaylock's mental remnant. It felt odd to her. Like faded words on the page of an old book. It was like Blaylock was eternally asleep. Faint memory as if he was an observer in his own body for the past few days. She saw her own capture and events up until now. But she pushed further. A strange dark crystal. A vault.

She kept pushing. An office. A priest. Drug addict. Then.

Oh. Gods. What was that.

Riley felt sonething large and dark behind her. She turned and a large ink-black wave fell on her.

Silth and Riley both woke with a sudden start.

:siren:
Rikey: There is a monster inside the Inquisitor. It knows you know.

Silth: The humanoid knows your secret. It knows you know it knows.

Patak - The Wilds | FP 5| 2 upshifts Banked

Patak started cooking and noticed the tent was empty. A female elf came walking out of the darkness, belting on a pair of breeches. "How rude to come upon a lady's camp while she's visiting the loo." This was not a dark elf. Her hair was the color of fire and her skin pale. She stood with her hands on hips and blew a wisp of hair that had gotten into her face. "Now what could a gentleman out here be wanting of a lone woman hmm?" Patak didn't get the impression she meant him harm, but she had an assured confidence about her that she feared nothing about him.

Silth - Host/Blaylock - The Fortress of No Return
FP: +3

Host/Blaylock's eyes shot open. Fury boiled behind the mask of flesh Silth wore, though it did not show on Host/Blaylock's face. Immediately he rose, throwing his chair aside as he did so, and stalked into the hall, flagging down one of the soldiers who patrolled or stood watch. It didn't matter who.

"The little girl being kept under guard just attempted to invade my mind; she is clearly a far more dangerous witch than anticipated. Execute her immediately. She has heretical ice magic and will attempt to confuse or enthrall you. Do not let her escape. Take no chances, and show no mercy. Go!"

Rather than accompany them, however, Host/Blaylock set off instead for the stairs. He was going to whatever high-point this fortress offered, where he could stare out and up at the 'sky', such as it was. Some balcony or terrace or upper floor open to the weather where he could stand and 'conduct' what was about to come. He stood there, gazing outward, taking a moment to bask in the rolling sound of thunder before Silth reached deep inside to call upon the power of the Stone it carried close.

There was no more time. It could wait no longer. It had to be now. If the girl escaped, then she might expose him. The city must fall.

Ordering Riley's immediate execution; she is a mind-invading witch who is too dangerous to leave alive.

Silth, meanwhile, is going to start whipping up the Storm of the Century, adding to the already rumbling thunder-snow going on and converting that Winter Magic into driving sleet and hailstones, Silth Stone [+2]. Death from Above, lots of lightning, etc. Naturally, Silth is loving livid so let's tap Wrath for +3 FP to give the storm a furious, massive boost. The storm will be angry, too.

Riley - The Fortress of No Return

It was like a nightmare creature in the flesh. And it hated her. No doubt it would be a matter of seconds before guards stormed in to kill her.

Riley brushed the tips of her fingers to feel the chilly energy sizzle between them. She might die today, but she was not going to die alone. She willed sheets and stakes of ice to form a circle around her like a spear wall. She would freeze the blood in the veins of any man who walked through that door or stood in her way.

Assuming she survives the first wave, though, Riley had a plan. She wanted to sneak deeper into the fortress, following the signs and clues for the morgue, the execution ward, the crematorium, any place the inquisitors might store the bodies of people they've killed.

Winter Magic [+2] to fight and kill any assailants. If she survives, Sneaky [+2] to creep further into the fortress.

The real power behind countless overlords

Isiah Incipio - Mysterious Valley, Wilds

Isiah regarded the odd blood stains on his gauntlet and shield. Then he shifted his cool gaze back to the shapeshifters. Back to the shipshifter blood. Back to them until he could see that they'd gotten the message. As a prince he'd been trained in all the subtle ways a diplomat might reveal his true thoughts and feelings without realizing it. That training stood him in good stead here. In a conversational, almost bored tone he addressed the two captives: "This is the second time you've attacked us unprovoked. Twice now I've splashed the ground with the blood of your kind for your folly. I would like to put an end to the strife between us. Tell me where your leader is so that I may talk with him and work out a peace agreement."

He waited patiently for them to respond. 10 seconds. A minute. 10 minutes passed. Isiah sighed and stood. "Okay. If you won't talk, your soul will." Calmly and deliberately he drew the bone blade. "I tore this out of the still living chest of a necromancer. It still hungers for the souls of the living. It whispers to me, begs me, every second of every day to let it kill. If you won't talk to me, I'll feed your soul to it and after an eternity of suffering your soul will beg me tell me everything it knows." There was a hint of weary compassion in Isiah's voice now: "Believe me. I've seen it before. Had to destroy the souls of more friends than I care to remember who were broken in just this way. Let's do this the easy way, yes?"

Intimidating/torturing the shapeshifters into leading me to their home.
Don't really want to write the torture parts so went with this instead, but yeah. Isiah is totally gonna torture them if they don't talk.
Warrior Prince +4

If this doesn't work, gonna try and feed their souls to the bone blade and see if their ghosts are any more co-operative.

Ksenija Ceranic - Blacktone - 6 FP

She quirks an eyebrow and starts picking through the room. There's always clues, you just need to know where to look. She checks the door, you always start with the point of entry. Was it kicked off the hinges? Left open? Locked? After that comes the story the furniture tells. Was the brawl quick and clean? Fast and dirty? Did it ever happen at all? What about the mattress? Something clearly happened there. Stillia could open portals, maybe these two could also? She feeds data into her implant as she works, maybe there's some files on criminology in there.

"You have anything to add Percy?" Ksenija says.

Hakon and Thralls - Hakon's Manor
FP: 11

Hakon recovers the Eye. The results of the study were interesting, but the fact that it had potentially damaged his wizard was annoying. At the very least, it didn't seem to be a threat to him. Once the Wizard regained consciousness and Hakon was assured he hadn't suffered any permanent injury, Hakon returned to his makeshift throne room. The Eye was still recharging, and so his plans were on hold. In the meantime he would need something to pass the time. Some time passed as he though, his attendants seeing to his desires, and then an idea popped into his head. An enjoyable diversion that should fill the time until the Eye's recharge was complete.

A set of orders went out, and in short order all of his thralls had gathered in the Manor's great hall. "I have decided that in the coming days the number of my thralls will grow greatly, and so a hierarchy is needed. So, in order to determine this hierarchy, you will compete with one another in shows of devotion to me. You may do whatever you choose, but I will not tolerate anything that seriously damages you or another thrall. You have until tomorrow to prepare, do not disappoint me."

Hakon's gonna have his thralls compete with shows of devotion as a method to try and figure out who to put where in the new hierarchy he's going to have to impose as his operation gets bigger.

Patak smiled, his arms wide.

"I only wished to share the fire and a meal, and with luck converse with a fellow traveler. I had thought you asleep in your tent when I approached. I apologize if I have intruded on your covered feet."

He stood to his full height and gave a solemn bow.

"I am Patak, a Warlord-errant on a quest to slay the Kursed. I have already claimed the Giant's Toe." He shared the food and his prized Toephy and offered further banter about the oddities of the Wildlands before sharing the details of the Northerner Massacre.

"The only thing I have to go on is boot prints that were all over the scene. They led me here. Do you know what happened there?" Patak glared at her expectantly over the glow of the fire.

Uh, Name, Occupation, reason for travel I guess? Oh and what the hell was with that Northerner Massacre? I suppose I can use Wildlands +2 toward buttering her up and Warlord +4 toward interrogation for a total conversational +6. War God's Banner +2 on call for Defensive measures.

Emilio Ughi - Unnamed Small Town
Flaw Points: 4

Emilio dusted off his shoulders as he traipsed to town with a swagger you wouldn't exactly expect from a man who just came a hair's width away from losing everything. But that was the Ughi way: no point in wallowing in past failures. No profit in that! Learn your lesson, and move on. And really, even if he had lost a few assets on the way (and who knows, maybe by some fluke they were alive and would return to him someday, hah!), Sally was still with him, and he had not lost his book nor his wits. A magical detector woman was not a bad profit margin for around a week of activity! So in fact, you could very well make the argument that life was smiling for Emilio. Well, as long as he got far enough from these parts that this so-called 'Dark Cardinal' would lose interest, that is. But other than that, things were surprisingly good. Merchant's luck!

But Emilio, being Emilio, was confident he could do better still. He smiled as he slowly swiveled his head, taking in the local architecture and people, before turning to Sally, teeth gleaming.

"Aha! Quite a prize we've found ourselves, hidden in the murky wilderness, haven't we my friend? Just the right size for a couple of temporarily embarrassed travelers to pick up some new wind under their wings!" Emilio beckoned for the woman to follow, and confidently grabbed his lapels as he begun a survey of the area, chatting away with his companion as he did "So, have you a clue what sort of place this is anyway? Any pertinent information you can spare on these more, ahh, rural settlements of this land? Any inquisitors here for us to worry about, for starters?"

Social Chameleon [+2] to not arouse undue attention as Emilio scouts out this new locale, make up a story about bandit attacks if asked. Nikita and Lt. Freda - Mysterious Hill, over looking a mysterious valley, The Wilds
FP: 2

"We'll skirt around. If we can slip past the patrols, we can hit the heart of the camp before they know what's happening. The rest of the defenders might think twice when we toss Morag-marn's head at their feet."

He looked over his troops, giving one of them a confident slap on the shoulder. "It's about time we had a proper stand-up fight with no ambiguity or questions of loyalty. Just remember to watch each other's backs, alright? If I lose any of you I'm going to be incredibly sour about it."

As the scout polished off the canteen of water, Nikita reslung his pack and made sure his weapons were strapped down properly to avoid making undue noise and giving them away. Freda had been very insistent on hammering that lesson home. Honestly, Gaol should have given her his position. She had all the qualifications he did, on top of actual combat experience. Throwing punches in a bar or gutting the occasional pirate did not come close to Freda's experience. All he had was a bit of magic and a stubborn streak a mile wide.

...Speaking of...

"Freda. Let me see your weapon for a moment." As she held it out, Nikita stared at it for several moments. He cleared his thoughts as he had been trained; not thinking. Just feeling. Searching for the nascent spirit within that weapon. It was well known that objects in proximity to people or places with strong personalities or emotional connections for prolonged periods of time could become imprinted by that closeness. And sometimes, very rarely, the thing could awaken just a little bit. Distant kin to the spirits of the natural world.

As he focused he thought he could feel a spark within the weapon. It was hard to know if it was real or just his mind playing tricks on him. This was all simple theory he had been taught, not something he'd ever put into practice before. He would just have to trust, and see for himself the results. He leaned closer and whispered a single word on the Old Tongue.

"Blood."

Witch +2 to imprint a blood hunger in Freda's weapon. If successful, it will bite a little harder and wounds it deals will bleed far more freely. It won't last very long; a few hours at most. He lacks the time, materials, and ritual to attempt to permanently enchant a weapon. Anyway, following the scout's lead and hopefully sneaking past the patrols.

The guards rushed to do Host/Blaylock's bidding. As Silth channeled through the stone he put all his rage and frustration into it.

A massive storm began brewing above the snow-thunder-storm. It's rumbling even greater as it built up. People glanced at the sky but when nothing was forthcoming continued about their day.

The storm is huge and covers the city and surrounding country side. It is building and has not broke. But think cat 5 hurricane power.

"Ok! Ok! We'll take you!" They squealed. They described an encampment on a hill where the boss who employed them was located. "Guards and pickets. Some gigants and the big one himself!"

It worked!

Who would send a pretty naive thing to confront professional killers about their life ending enslavement as a punishment crimes? The sword gained a minor enchantment and Freda thanked Nikita, a spring in her already warrior steps. The sneaking and armor quieting let Nikita sneak right into the camp. Many beasts were sleeping, the biggest being the big M's form on a throne made from a large mushroom stump.

The scout jumped behind a tent and screamed, "Alarm! Alarm!" The shapeshifter showing his true colors. Purple. The two surprises canceled each other out. The sleepers didn't hear Nikita but they were prepared with an ambush. "Fiiiiight!" Screamed the gigants.
