Hey BTW I added a ton of folks just so I could see the silly names you gave items but now I'm coming to realize that there's zero way for me to keep track of who I recently added and, thus, cannot group you on my friend list the way I wanted to. Does anyone know of any reputable plug-in or program that smartly helps me sort out my Steam friend list which probably hasn't updated its code in 8 years?

With Nobunaga's Ambition, would you recommend Ascension over the base game, or vice-versa? I remember now someone describing the Officer system, and I thought it sounded pretty interesting. I've not really played much of SoI or Ascension, so my recommendation to you would be to get SoI as that gives a different experience to X, SoI being a Force game whereas X and Ascension are Officer games, which will let you more easily decide which scale you prefer. I'd also seriously suggest you give XI a shot: if you like it, it might become your favourite in the series by a fair margin as a Force game.

when I send a request to someone I go to the friends list and add details to the nickname (username and/or where from), then when the request is accepted, just move to the relevant friend group.

just rescued strix from a rather large ship with seconds to spare. made my way through with some lucky drops and got to strix with not enough time to get back to the pod. went to the outer hull, shot a window ejecting us both and then remoted the pod to pick us up, 2 seconds before death.

I keep trying to do cool poo poo in Heat Sig, like shoot out a window for a rushed escape with a target I need to capture in the middle of a warzone, but it just doesn't work. Same with shooting while in space to propel me towards walls of the ship to swap out an assassination target: just doesn't seem to work anymore. I've played several of the betas and this stuff was doable back then am I just doing something extremely wrong?

I don't know how to cancel the shot, but you can save the target by using a swapper teleporter.

It's a great mix of Hotline Miami, FTL, Gunpoint and Hitman which adds up to "totally my poo poo".

My highlight is going on a Capture mission and forgetting to bring a non-lethal weapon. I starting wildly firing a pistol around to draw my target into a room with a window. Shot the window to bring us both into the cold void of space, and then swung my pod around for an extraction.

Also hot tip, your pod automatically detaches when you go unconscious, not when you're about to be spaced. So if you manage to recover, don't walk out the airlock expecting your ride to be there.

Honestly, Heat Signature most reminds me of Invisible Inc, what with the small, focused missions that involve a lot of dead/KOed guards, things getting worse if you trip an alarm, and how much fun it is to play.

I'm so happy I bought it - and it's so neat to buy an indie game day one and find that it's not in early access, it doesn't need any major patches, it's just finished and fantastic.

Yup, which is why I'm finding it odd that something that I used to do fairly easily in earlier builds is so bloody fiddly now.

Use a teleporter, use a key console, use a key cloner on someone else, just straight up fire your gun so someone comes running and opens the door you need. There's a lot of ways to get around it!

I've done it exactly once. You have to start piloting right away because the UI won't help you. The keycard still exists as an object, but there's no marker for it and you can't use the brakes to match velocity to it. It's definitely the least reliable of the options I gave, so in retrospect I should've listed it somewhere in the middle so it gets overlooked.
