This is basically gonna be the general idol thread in case no one makes the other show-specific idol threads, or they die from little discussion. Side M continues directly off of the 2011 idolm@ster anime, generally only pertaining to Jupiter's backstory. Newcomers can come in fresh though, since episode 0 basically covers that plot in broad strokes, and is also a crossover with the idolm@ster movie, in case anyone was wondering about that run-in with Haruka. New Chapter WuG returns with a new staff and art style. Season 1 started off with a fairly cynical edge (and a kinda gross episode 2, it's ok all guilty parties were punched in the face) but it developed into a fairly positive underdog story of girls becoming friends as idols as they take on the equivalent of AKB48. Worth a watch, cause they have some rad choreographed songs at the very least. Also for any newcomers, the first movie is effectively episode 0, and the season directly continues from that. Both the first movie and first season are currently on Crunchyroll. You'll have to find the 2 sequel movies elsewhere. The sequel movies aren't as good, though Beyond the Bottom is a pretty good song. I'm excited for all aspects of the Idolocalypse. Sunshine of course, but the Jupiter ep of SideM was really good, and I've high hopes that WUG can return to form after the disappointing movies with a full season to work with again. I still need to finish the first season of Cingeki, actually, so I guess that's the redheaded stepchild of the four horsemen. I watched the sideM episode 0 and i actually liked the show. Funny and filled with passion much like the first idolmaster show. Also I like Jupiter now? But yeah A-1 does not disappoint in the dancing animations

I read like, part of the Jupiter story in the side M game, and that made me like Jupiter. They really don't get a chance to do much besides be dickheads in say, the idolmaster anime. Even after they leave 961, they only really show up for a few seconds to make Haruka feel a bit better. Twice, even. It's amazing what more than 30 seconds of characterization'll do to change your opinion.
