 Death Note - a peragame Mafia-like for at least 13 players.  This will be a semi-open setup, though that setup will be disclosed in your role PMs - and yes, I'm going to lie to you. All the usual Mafia rules will apply, but in addition, lurking will completely destabilize the game, so gently caress you. If you let the thread (or myself privately) know that you will be absent from the game, mercy will be granted, so long as this mercy is not abused. Borrowing both from Lumpen and Podima, here are the lurking rules: - You must actively participate in the game, and failure to do so will result in killing roles being able to eliminate you at will. - Failure to participate meaningfully will grant killing roles fragments of free information that will aid them in eliminating you. At first glance the Death Note may seem to be an incredibly powerful killing role. I'm not going to lie to you, it is. To counter it, there are no vanilla town roles, the game is full of investigators who can coordinate their actions in an attempt to learn the identity of their respective targets. The game will feature several locations and several goals, but I feel I should make this very clear: There is no day-phase. Actions have a deadline at which point they are carried out and impact the game, but there is no day-phase and no true lynching mechanic. Like all peragames, I should warn you to abandon your meta-based assumptions and throw yourself into the world I've created for you. If you're not interested in this sort of experience, well... audience participation will be a factor. Literally any forumsuser will be welcome to post in-thread and play as a vanilla town member. They have no win condition, may come and go as they please, but they represent civilians doing their best to either solve... or complicate the investigation. Can you take advantage of a plethora of information and identify this mysterious adversary?
