I think he's trying to say the actually quite good point that he feels like John wanted the things superficially that the wrestling business appeared to be, but that learning to work and putting in the time and effort to provide what the WWF wanted wouldn't gel with him. A kid who thought he wanted to be a wrestler, not a seasoned pro who has learned the ropes the hard way, I think. And an attitude problem in the making. Though WWE does flop hilariously between wanting people who already know what they're doing and blank slates.

Rowan made me enjoy him with the two goddamn weeks of the secret genius vintner/grumpycat stuff he'd been saddled with. That and the inexplicable Survivor Series face turn and the Donkey Kong Country banjo music and his horrifyingly deep voice for even a man of his considerable size was like distilled Kane moonshine to my Kane mark self. My tumultuous rear end-based shattering of a plastic cathedra in his honor was the truest thing experience has ever granted me. I want him to win a two-day long reign with the US championship in some sort of marvelous fluke and then never, ever sniff anything above that, because I love him, and my love is a cataclysm. I guess he can be on Fashion Files. I'll accept that.
