Steve Jannson, from the Philadelphia doom metal outfit Crypt Sermon, has a new black thrash 'n roll project releasing a MLP next month. They're called, Daeva (da-ay-vuh)? It's pretty awesome sounding if you dig the nasty early Aura Noir and Venom sort of thing. Check it out.

The CdG, Sepulchral Zeal split is good. CdG side is an outtake from the Henbane sessions and is killer.

e: the SZ side is pretty good too if creepy/echo-y/slow dm is your thing.

He died for your sins...
Apparently this album was released end of July digitally, but I only found out about it because I got a promo email from the label that is releasing the CD.

A Pale December is some loving fantastic atmospheric black metal. I'd say if you're a fan of Harakiri for the Sky, a slightly less medieval Obsequiea, maybe even a little Agalloch, this will be right up your alley. Lots of melody, airy ambient stringed instrument interludes and synths, a really beautiful, depressing, harsh kind of vibe. The production is fantastic too, the drums in particular sound amazing and I normally don't give a poo poo about drums really as long as they're there.

A lot of the songs have a real sense of building up and intensifying before dropping to a lull then picking back up again along with a variety of quick time-signature adjustments sprinkled throughout, it's a very satisfying listen.

Favourite track - The Path of Stars: https://apaledecember.bandcamp.com/track/the-path-of-stars

But honestly every song is its own treasure.

[edit] Meant to post this in the general thread as I'd hestitate to call this really BLACK METAL, much more in the "post-" range, but maybe you all may get a kick out of it.

Black metal or not, I'm glad you posted it here, because this is great and I would've missed it otherwise. Thank you.

I really don't like pagan/viking/whatever black metal. I can appreciate that it's good, it's just too cheesy for me personally. But I can't stop listening to Havukruunu's Kelle Surut Soi, I don't know how they pulled it off but I really like it despite it being in a subgenre I normally can't enjoy.

There's really not many good bands in that style apart from Bathory and Graveland.

I had to put in some work, but I got a hold of Vaal's new album. Probably one of my favourite albums this year.

It is an insanely good album, easily in my overall top of the year list. The previous one, Havulinnaan, is really good too but this one is just a big improvement.

It seems like a lot of people really prefer Suspended in the Brume of Eos to Aria of Vernal Tombs, which I find baffling tbh.
