I really miss Lanegan. Is Villains the only album besides s/t that he isn't on? He technically only sings backup on If I Had A Tail so he's hardly on Clockwork either.

Era Vulgaris is weird because the b-sides left off the album are better than the album itself.

Saw these guys in Toronto last night. Weirdly it was my first time seeing them. I like the new album alright but the songs were definitely better live. Jon Theodore is a beast on the drums.

Josh said at one point it was the largest show they'd played in North America - that can't be true, can it? Capacity is 15-16k at this place. Maybe he meant not a festival / largest headlining show? Still seems weird.

I submit that you took that baseball, stashed it in your unusually large vagina, and walked right on out of here!
I'm outrageously excited to see them in Columbus tomorrow night! I've seen Queens twice and TCV twice, but it's been far too long since the Like Clockwork tour.

New album owns, but to be fair Josh could record an album of farts and I'd be all over it, the man is a mastermind. Favorites so far are The Evil Has Landed, Un-Reborn Again, and Domesticated Animals.

You know what the annoying thing is? They already have written them. Here's the full list of registered songs for Them Crooked Vultures:
http://repertoire.bmi.com/Catalog.aspx?detail=artistid&page=1&fromrow=1&torow=25&keyid=223815&subid=0

There's pretty much a second album worth there. Already written, credited to all 3. When I saw them live, I was behind the lighting desk and they already had presets and cues programmed in for all of these songs, implying they planned to play them then didn't.

Wonder if they'll ever come out.

Odd, when I saw them in St. Louis last week, they only played 2 or 3 songs from Villains and Head Like a Haunted House was one of them. I think the largest majority of songs they played here were from Like Clockwork.

Yeah they went through a good chunk of Like Clockwork, Villains, and then some miscellaneous hits (including You Think I Aint Worth a Dollar but I Feel Like a Millionaire which is kind of funny when Nick Oliveri isn't around).

Yeah it was nice seeing them do some old hits despite not having Oliveri and Lanegan, Josh sang Hanging Tree here in STL and it was fantastic.

I really like how often they vary the setlist. Love that they broke out Hangin' Tree.

And about Villains, it's definitely grown on me. I still would rank it as their weakest album, but Unreborn Again is a top-tier QOTSA song for sure. loving love that song.

Suture Up Your Future seems to only get played in an acoustic setting, so it seems unlikely. I don't think Misfit Love has appeared on this tour yet, but the play it often enough and they very well could bust it out when you see them. Misfit Love is so loving good, wish I got to see it live (although I got to see I'm Designer live a few years ago, which is a fairly rare song).

I want to say they played misfit love in STL but I could be remembering wrong. I know they played 1 or 2 songs off Era Vulgaris.

Edit, I was wrong, found the set list here.

I've got mixed feelings. I've already seen an ultra awesome Better living through chemistry 4 years ago so at this point I just want them to throw in an obscure b-side song of theirs live like Infinity, You're so vague, Going on west or Born to hula. I'd lose my poo poo.
I'd also settle for Mexicola or Smooth sailin'.
Also they better play Head like a haunted house :argh:.

I saw them for the 8th (I think??) time tonight. Third this year after Montebello and Riot Fest. Giant arena shows aren’t my thing but I got front GA tickets and they played Mexicola so it was a great show. Before this tour, I had only ever seen them in 2002, that was with Mark Lanegan in the touring band. It was one of my favorite shows ever, Trail of Dead's opening set was bad rear end as well. It was an insane night, there was a live Bon Jovi show going on in Times Square a few blocks away, and security and police were intense. There's an NME review of that show online: http://www.nme.com/reviews/live/reviews-nme-6760

They were awesome last week too.
