A few pages ago someone asked if people still drive Chevy SSs (Chevy S-S-es?) I drove past this a few days ago and tried to swing back for pictures. I didn't have time to stop by, but it was an entirely SS show:

Agreed. Cars are machines, machines break, but also machines can be fixed. As long as the car isn't going to a scrap yard I'm glad to see it being worked on.

Personal terrible car stuff. The K&N filter on the short-ram intake (lol) for my xB (loving why) was so brittle and dried out that it snapped off at the base and was crushed under my wheels. My journey of reversing ‘tuner’ neglect continues.

Minor idiocy in the parking garage today. The hatched area is the end of the row in the garage, right by the entrance and furthest away from the door to the hospital. It used to be a spot but people kept running into cars parked there so they made it a no-parking area. If you zoom in closely you can see the handicap placard in the windshield. There were at least six open handicap spots by the door...

Didn't know which thread to put this in, so... Was driving down a backstreet here in Doha over the weekend and doubled back to snatch these pictures before the owner chased me away. I was genuinely interested to see what engine it had. Turns out it's a Flintstones special? This was the other one. I have no idea. I sometimes see the oddest things on the road here.

Some of those make it difficult for the cameras to get a picture of your plate. (probably not that one though... that one probably is a pocket protector)

Seat Safety Switch posted:I didn't realize the TPMS turned the light on for too much pressure too. Depends on the implementation, some cars only trigger the light for low pressure. Some trigger it for high pressure too. Some will implement an actual pressure readout on the driver info display or odometer (GM is pretty good about this, even the later Cobalts could show you real time tire pressure on the DIC.. or maybe it was the Cruze that started doing that?). A coworker's 06 Prius only throws the light if a tire is low. Well, used to.. it's on all the time now, one of the sensors is dead and he doesn't want to put any more money into the car (300k, and he just replaced it with a 2017 Prius).
