Pretty much every time I play a game with AI, Morgan either gets his poo poo ruined immediately by a neighboring faction or lands on an island by himself and remains irrelevant for the entire game. Also some stuff I learned from gratuitous use of supply crawlers: Base population above 126 causes the game to crash A base with population exceeding 40 can no longer experience a Golden Age through any means. The maximum number of talents a base can have is 20, as that is the maximum number of tiles that can be worked by citizens. Once there's more specialists than talents, no more golden ages. Since this is basically the unofficial Alpha Centauri/CSPAM gaming thread, I'm encountering a catastrophic CTD bug with Yitzi's 3.5 patch that crashes every time after a massive fungal bloom from eco damage. Jose posted:this exe doesn't work for me it's the terranx.exe which means it's the Alien Crossfire one. Not sure if there's a patch for the regular terran exe. In case you don't know, you're supposed to paste it into your SMAC folder and replace the original .exe with that one. Might have to redo your desktop shortcut too.

Have you not installed Yitzi's 3.5 patch already? I don't get why it wouldn't be working otherwise. e: I eventually got to the point where any random event, like forest or fungus expansion, or one of my units being blown up would CTD. I basically just disabled PRACX and the ctd problem went away. It's inconvenient but PRACX 1.10 is like three years old while Fitzi's Patch was just updated last year, so there's bound to be some conflict. If you want to force Alpha Centauri do do a widescreen without installing PRACX, go into your alphacentauri.ini and add in a line under [Alpha Centauri] that says DirectDraw=0 and it'll default to your desktop resolution. The UI and the FMVs are at a lower resolution, but the game map itself will fit your whole screen. ee: nevermind the problem came back. Guess my current game is boned.
