In a year there's going to be more games that are enhanced to actually use it, and there will also be a norm set if games will bother to run better at 1080p, or just patch in 4K mode + larger textures. At launch, it's questionable overall and 4K output seems to be the main appeal.

As a 65" KS8000 owner + about 6TBs of space to spare, I am pumped about my Xbox One X coming in the mail. I just got done watching half a hour of XboneX impressions and graphic comparisons and as someone who's already equipped with the equipment to take advantage of the system, I dunno why anybody would be all :eh: about the system. Seems Microsoft is doing a great job with it. (I have a PS4 Pro as well, there's no console war bs). Also, Skate 3 & Mirror's Edge X360 just got Xbox One X enhanced. Skate 3 is the best game on xbone, and because there's no easy way to play it on PS4, xbone is the best console. Good for them for recognizing this.

Xbone Ses being so cheap is unfortunately the biggest argument against the X. You could buy yourself AND your little nephew an Xbone S and still have $100 left over for the price of an X.

Forza Horizon 3 is legitimately great IMO, even as someone who's usually not a racing game fan. Come home put in CoD WW2 so it can install and get all happy, go do poo poo for over an hour, come back and try to launch it, now it decides it needs a fuckin 10GB update that it didn't bother to do and will take 2 hours at this rate even though I have 100Mbit gently caress xbox

Jesus Christ why is this thread so terrible? The PS4 had a much better line up of exclusive games this year. Also it has a larger multiplayer base this generation which sometimes matters. XBox in a stunning reversal has turned out to be the more consumer friendly platform and if the brand survives, seems to be laying the ground for a future where every Xbox game remains compatible with the hardware rev after rev. Most games are multi platform so it barely matters what console you buy. I prefer the X controller and I’m making a bet on long term backwards compatibility so I mostly buy xbox games but I picked up a PS4 for Horizon and Bloodborne and a few other exclusives and I’m really happy with it. After all this time in xbox land, it was weird as heck to discover that I couldn’t also go back and play the PS3 games I missed out because I skipped that generation. They simply don’t run on PS4 I guess? Maybe someday Sony and Nintendo will work out that we would happily buy their old games for our new consoles if they’d just loving make them available but that day is not today.
