GIP, meet Lando.  He’s a very sweet one year old Flat-Coated Retriever mix, and he’s coming to his new forever home with my girlfriend and I tomorrow. Here’s this good boy getting a bath before we get him tomorrow.  Can’t wait to give him the awesome life he deserves and spoil him rotten with all of the treats, pettes, love and adventures!

Bella was blessed to have you for her forever friend, Writer Cath. She's enjoying all of those crepes and steaks at the Rainbow Bridge now. In happier news, my girlfriend and I brought home Lando today and we're both head over heels in love with the dude already. We knew he was a flat coat retriever mix, but we think he may be part scorpion on account of how his ever-wagging tail is quite the weapon, and maybe also part slinky in the ways we've seen him contort his body while getting off and on our sofa. I'm by nature a pretty happy person, but right now my girlfriend and my dog are napping together at the other end of the couch, so it's a statement of no small magnitude to say I feel like I haven't been this happy in years.

Bella was a good girl sticking it out that long. You had a great dog. Frank's getting some extra loving tonight. My brother just got a pug/beagle mix puppy. Can't wait for Frank to meet it sometime this winter.

Stuck it out for an extra two months, also on account of a dachshund. I hate to think how much longer I would have gone if she’d had a second plus an Aussie. Possibly marriage.

This morning, my girlfriend threw a Kong packed with peanut butter, frozen overnight, into Lando’s crate. He bounded in after it and started going to town on that thing, and my girlfriend quietly left for work a few minutes later without saying another word to him. It took Lando about 15 minutes to figure out his humans were gone, and he treated the camera we’re using to monitor his crate to an impressive show of barking and crying. It took everything I had to not jump in a cab to go home to comfort him. As a bonus, here’s a pic of him trying to share a toy with his own reflection.
