It has been a long and interesting competition, and there are many excellent entries. Thanks to all who chose to participate, or to read along! This has been one of the best turnouts we've had in a long time, and is going to be one heck of a difficult decision. Only one can reign supreme as The Best Chili, so please vote above. Voting will run through Wednesday, 15 November. Liquid Communism fucked around with this message at 04:59 on Nov 3, 2017 |

My vote is the gaming goon with the chili beans. It’s very similar to how I make my chili. I also made it and was delicious! Piggy Smalls fucked around with this message at 17:05 on Nov 5, 2017 |

I really enjoyed this competition and learned a huge amount about various ways to improve on the basic recipe: there are definitely lots of things I'm going to take from all the entries next time I make chili.

I tweaked my chili from the recipe a bit:

Some delicious-looking chillis round here lately, but I think there was only really one poster who followed the full brief and actually justified their chilli. I'm definitely in the mood for some smoky, spicy goodness though so good job everyone!

I think I was pretty clear that we now have to be Chili Jungians.

I got two votes! That is two more than I expected, so, thanks to both of you, whomever you are. I really enjoyed doing an ICSA; it motivated me to try something new, and I got a couple gallons of chili out of the deal as well, so win/win.

Those were a bunch of fantastic Chilis. Reading through all the entries was nice compensation for waking up way too early. Well done everyone.

Thank you for the support, everyone: my wife had her doubts about whether this was a sensible use of my time, but it was definitely worth it!

it's gratifying that Advanced Chilosophy got goldmined, but I was pretty furious that most people weren't voting 5 on that masterpiece thread

What? It got goldmined?! Wow, that's my first ever goldmined thread. Obviously, standards are slipping.
