Another weird thing was that at one of the conventions they gave Sandi a fake award that was like a golden computer or something that was for "putting up with poo poo on the internet."

As far as I know she never had any online presence in the Star Citizen community at all so what poo poo was she putting up with exactly?

Consider
- Your example of her personally responding to posts from this thread
- People being banned on RSI for posting here
- After we criticized giving Ben donuts she awkwardly came out and placed a huge bag of donuts in the center of the frame while looking at the camera
- After we made fun of her looking high as gently caress with huge glasses and stuffing her face during shows later she just weirdly stared into the camera and started eating while smirking

I think she's probably narcissistic enough to have been reading this thread personally. Which is funny because it means that we have had more direct influence on Star Citizen than any of the whales have had while paying 0$.

The whole thing with Sandi was very strange, even at the beginning.

She was the elusive “nerd female on the internet” stereotype that for some reason in the 2010’s was a big thing for the Star Citizen community.

Her marriage was kept secret, and they used her to try to garner more support, which was inevitably successful. She also had the core backers playing “white knight” for her.

Even after her marriage was known literally by brute force thanks to, if I recall, Derek digging into it and raising questions about why they were pretending to not be married. This lead to the inevitable announcement that “of course we’re married we never hid that ever” despite doing exactly that.

Even in most AtVs Sandi never and likely still doesn’t, wear a wedding ring in order to facilitate to that “available female” persona.

So, all along this timeline she has white knights sending her gifts, supporting her, and basically doing everything they can to get noticed by her that it’s a bit silly. From foods, to wines, to silly awards, to silly purchases, it’s all there throughout this facade.

Also there is the inevitable one on one time that we know high level backers had, at the time (I’m not sure if they still do this), and it’s unknown what sort of things both Sandi and other community team members have said to backers to make them feel like part of the family, all in the name of having them continue to spend money.

Here's a thing that is so obvious I only just realised it.

The funding isn't going to go back up. It's headed in one direction only and that is southwest towards FUBAR. As Agent quite rightly points out November is on track to be 50% down from last November. October is just shy of 40% down on last October.

What this means is that by the end of December everyone will be able to see if this trend has continued. If it does, December is down 60%. Jan 2018 is down 70%. And so on. How cool would that be?

They can't release 3.0 until after the xmas sale, which raises another question in my head - what in the wide wide world of loving sport kind of ship could there possibly be that hasn't been done already? We have ships that mine, motorbikes, Cryengine buggies, multicrew, fighters of all kinds, ships that poo poo out bases to watch your commando masturbate inside... what else is there?

Your own space station for $5,000? They may as well, why the gently caress would they not? That's a year worth of theorycrafting right there. You could have a promo video knocked up for that in 2 weeks.

They've long ago hit the hard technical limit of what the engine can do (and they know it), and it *should* be possible by the end of this year to see if they've hit the hard limit of funding too.

They’re going to do carriers and bigger fleet ships I bet. This will probably be he final push because these will be super high dollar ships targeted specifically at their active high dollar backers.

I feel like all these little things are them still trying to hook people in, but eventually the hooks won’t drag in enough whale meat, so it’ll be fire sale time. Time to buy those big ships that have more crew requirements than they can support players on the server.

The only reason they’re not doing that now is because they know they game can’t support it. But hey, you start a marketing campaign by maybe slipping out that “we’re testing 60 players in a game and it’s going great” right before you hit hard into these big fleet ships and you know you might take a few in. They can’t do that now because everybody knows the game can’t support it. But you start a rumor that it can in the next update or two. :)

Right in the cognitive dissonance.

Also at around this time she quit Twitter because of online harassment.

Nobody knew what she was talking about, and about two or three days later she retweeted some random new account harassing her after her announcement.

It was most definitely not staged, I’m sure. :allears:

Also this coincides with about the time she basically quit CIG to go play full time actress, and still collect a CIG paycheck, but I’m sure there is no connection between this.

Remember that time you talked to customer service and then the replies got weird and it turns out that Sandi was reading them and decided to take you on 1v1 like a good ole deathmatch in Doom?

Also never forget that at the conclusion when Beer wipes the floor with her, and it was very likely that they had evidence on their system of Sandi being hugely inappropriate and stupid, they wiped their entire email database about a week later.

They claimed this to be standard year end clean up, but naturally they had never done it before and had never done it since, this moment.

This is all leading up to Sandi going offline, and no longer communicating with anybody online anymore. From faux twitter harassment campaigns to scare her away and pull at the heartstrings of stupid backers, to never showing up for more than YouTube videos. Her SC presence since this point has basically been nullified to keeping up the appearance that she still does stuff.

The reality, I believe, though is that she got upset she couldn’t win a sparring match with Beer, ended up looking stupid, decided she didn’t even like video games anyway, and had help to construct a way out so she could go so what she wanted to do, which was be an actress. I seriously think that Beer helped put the final nail in her tolerance for the dumb video game that made her a filthy and ungrateful millionaire.

I hesitate to speculate on what the next concept cash grabs will be because I never expected the most recent one.

Who would have thought they would have added years of technical debt by selling a $900 ship that claims skyrim maps on planets.

I could speculate on another capital ship or how I think they'll create a new alien ship or something but they will probably come up with a $1000 space riverboat casino with intricately designed custom space gambling games they are going to create from scratch.

It could be something new, or it could be just an old one they feel they can squeeze more blood out of like the Idiris or whatever.
